The Woodland and Cass volleyball teams each lost twice on Thursday evening. Cass lost to host Trion 25-20, 25-11, and fell to Murray County 25-10, 25-10. Woodland won the first set against Paulding County, but lost the final two sets for a 2-1 loss. The Lady Cats also dropped a straight-set match to Pickens.
Jordan Thigpin had six digs and five service aces for the Lady Colonels in their losses. Briley Lauro contributed four kills. Natalie brown had two kills and Nikitta Jett added two blocks for Cass.
In the Lady Cats’ five sets, Ava Lawler totaled 14 assists, three kills, four blocks, and 12 digs. Reese Martinak had 17 digs and four kills. Emily Guin contributed five kills and 10 digs. Aby Childs had 17 digs. Dayana Jaimes totaled 20 digs, and Karissa Williamson finished with three kills.
Cass (0-4) travels to Cedartown on Tuesday and will also face Rockmart in action that begins at 6 p.m.
Woodland (1-5) hosts Darlington on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
