Woodland, Cass wrestling teams impressive at Knockout Christmas Classic
The Woodland and Cass wrestling teams competed this week at the prestigious Knockout Christmas Classic in Kissimmee, Florida with both teams earning top ten finishes. Woodland finished third and Cass placed ninth in a field of 52 teams from across the nation. Tuttle (Oklahoma) won the team championship with 215.5 points. Baylor (Tennessee) was runner-up with 197.5 and Woodland was next with 153.5 points.
Rounding out the top ten were Jesuit (Florida), Palmetto Ridge (Florida), South Dade (Florida), Southwest Miami (Florida), Cass, and Woodward Academy.
Woodland had three individual champions: Caleb Henson (154), Cole Cochran (160), and Jaxon Smith (197). Caden McCrary (140) collected a third place finish. Cole Hunt (122) was an individual champion for the Colonels. Jake Crapps (115) was tournament runner-up and Bryce Kresho (128) earned a third place finish.
