Woodland defeats Gordon Central on Senior Night; Adairsville splits region matches
Woodland volleyball swept visiting Gordon Central Thursday night in straight sets, 3-0, as the Lady Cats honored their seniors.
Woodland won 25-7, 25-12, and 25-13.
Kendall Condon had 20 assists, six digs, and six aces. Kailynn Mullinax had nine kills and three aces. Madison West had five kills and two aces. Anastyn Jones had five kills, four digs, and a pair of aces. Bailee Motes had four digs and four aces.
ADAIRSVILLE SPLITS REGION MATCHES
Adairsville volleyball split a pair of matches Thursday night in Rossville. The Lady Tigers lost to host Ridgeland 25-21 and 25-12 but defeated Ringgold 26-24 and 25-23.
In the two matches, Adairsville’s Richlyn Blair had eight kills, 11 digs, one assist, and one block. Jayna Wilson and Jordyn Hartline totaled four kills and one block each. Wilson added an assist and three digs. Addie Pearson contributed 12 assists, 11 digs, two kills, one block and one ace. Annie McCormick finished with 10 assists, four digs, one ace, and one kill. Jenna Claire Hendley had six kills, five blocks, five aces, and three digs. Sherry Wells added ten digs and one kill.
Adairsville (7-9-2, 1-1) travels to Fort Oglethorpe next Tuesday to face region foes Coahulla Creek and host Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.
CASS FALLS IN FIVE SETS TO ROCKMART Cass volleyball dropped a non-region, five-set match at Rockmart Thursday night.
The Lady Colonels won the second and third sets 25-11 and 25-23. Rockmart won the opening set 25-23, took the fourth set 25-15, and won the fifth tie-breaker set 15-9.
Tamira Feanny had five kills and seven service aces to Cass in the loss. Harlee Davis finished with nine assists and nine aces. Jenesys Moctezuma totaled 52 digs.
Cass (8-11-1) hosts Hiram and Dalton for Region 7-5A matches Tuesday starting at 5:30 p.m.
