Woodland falls in region opener at Hiram

Woodland lost a very close Region 7-AAAAA match Tuesday night at Hiram, 25-21 and 25-20. The contest was the opener in region play for both teams.

Later in the evening, the Wildcats won the opening set but ultimately lost a non-region match against McEachern. Woodland took the first set 25-15 before dropping the middle set 25-14 and the third set 25-12.

Sydney Molinaro paced Woodland with 13 kills, 12 digs, seven assists, three aces, and two blocks in the two matches. Delaney Tuplin contributed seven digs, six aces, and five kills.

The Lady Cats (1-7, 0-1) travel to Gordon Central Thursday for non-region action where they will also face Haralson County.
