Woodland girls 3rd, boys 4th as Wildcats host 17th Run at the Rock

The Woodland girls finished third and the Woodland boys were fourth Saturday at the 17th Run at the Rock 5K hosted by the Wildcats on their campus.


Hillgrove girls and boys won the varsity races and had the two individual winners also. Joseph Brooks won the boys’ race in 17:06 and Adelaide Ellis was the girls’ winner in 20:56. The boys’ race included 122 runners. The girls’ race had 98 runners.


Behind the Hillgrove girls, The King’s Academy finished second followed by Woodland, River Ridge, and North Cobb to round out the top five of 11 participating teams.


Following the Hillgrove boys, Duluth was second with River Ridge, Woodland, and East Paulding rounding out the top five. Cass placed 10th in the 14-team field.

Next on the Woodland and Cass schedules will be the Wire2Wire XC Invitational on September 16 hosted by Cartersville High School.
