Woodland softball takes two from Hiram

Woodland softball swept a home doubleheader with Hiram Friday evening, winning 11-3 and 16-8.
Evelyne Tucker (5 IP, 3ER, 4H, 3BB, 4K) was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cats in the first game. Bella Kuykendall (4 IP, 8R, 2ER, 8H, 1BB) made the pitching start and collected the win in the circle in Game 2, with Tucker (2 IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB) closing out the final two frames.
Kylee Poston and Charlee Byrd each had five hits and four RBI in the doubleheader to pace the Lady Cats’ offense. Ashlyn Baines (two RBI), Bailey Gerstner (two doubles, two RBI), and Kamryn Smith (double, RBI) produced three hits. Gracie Korb (five RBI), Sis Pirkle (two doubles, two RBI), Bailey Ryan (double, RBI), and Cat Sneed (two RBI) contributed two hits on the night. Hayley Ledford had one hit, while Charlotte Petersen and Bella Turner both drove in one run.
The losses dropped Hiram to 5-19 overall and 3-17 in region play.
Woodland (11-14, 8-11) hosts a doubleheader with Allatoona on Monday, starting at 5 p.m.
