Woodland softball tops Sonoraville; Lady Tigers fall at Chattooga

Woodland softball defeated visiting Sonoraville on Monday night, 4-1.
Lillian Hollis had two hits and two RBI for the Lady Cats. Bella Kuykendall and Gracie Korb also had two hits in the victory. Bailey Ryan and Daliyah Callahan each added one hit. Charlotte Petersen had one RBI for the Wildcats.
Evelyne Tucker collected the pitching win with a seven-inning, complete-game effort. She scattered five hits and two walks while striking out four.
Woodland (6-9, 2-5 Region 7-5A) visits Dalton on Thursday at 5:55 p.m.
CHATTOOGA 10, ADAIRSVILLE 5
The host Indians scored nine runs across the final three innings to defeat visiting Adairsville on Monday night, 10-5.
Adairsville’s Chloe Hill was saddled with the pitching loss, but led the offense with two hits, including one double. Lily Brookshire had one hit and two RBI. Lillianne Gunter (RBI), Paislee Rooks, Madison Brookshire, Hynleigh Statham, and Ansley Powell each added one hit.
The Lady Tigers (10-5, 5-1 Region 7-4A) host Southeast Whitfield on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and travel to Ridgeland on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. start.
