Woodland volleyball earns a non-region split

Woodland volleyball split two non-region matches on Thursday evening, while Cass and Adairsville were swept in matches.

Woodland defeated South Cobb 25-22 and 25-8, but lost to East Paulding 13-25 and 19-25 in matches played at East Paulding.

Izzy Hazelwood had eight assists, nine digs, and two aces for the Lady Cats. Bella King contributed five service aces, two kills, and two blocks, while Aby Childs totaled seven digs and four kills.

Adairsville lost to host North Murray 17-25 and 16-25 on Thursday and also fell in a 17-25, 22-25 decision to Dade County.

Also on Thursday, Cass lost straight-set matches at South Paulding. The Lady Colonels lost 3-25, 14-25 to the host Lady Spartans and dropped a 16-25, 12-25 decision to Osborne.

Woodland (8-21, 0-5) hosts Cass (2-21, 0-5) and Cedartown on Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m.

Adairsville (7-21, 1-5) travels to Rossville on Tuesday to face host Ridgeland and Heritage-Catoosa.
