Woodland wrestlers excel at Florida Knockout Christmas Classic
The Woodland High School wrestling team placed second December 27-28 at the Osceola High School Knockout Christmas Classic in Kissimmee, Florida.
Lake Gibson High School won the tournament championship with 218.5 points. Woodland was next at 204.5 with Jesuit (203), South Dade (153), and Somerset (150) rounding out the top five teams in the 41-team event. Woodland's Caleb Henson won the 145-pound division individual championship while teammate Jaxon Smith finished runner-up in the 170-pound weight class. Wildcats William Bishop (126), Caden McCrary (138), Colby Cochran (160), and Demarcus Williams (195) placed third in the respective divisions and Bryce Shedd (220) finished in sixth place.
