Kiley Arnold drove in four runs on three hits Tuesday night to help lead the Cartersville softball team to a 7-3 Region 7-5A win at Calhoun. Arnold drove in runs with a single in the first inning, a bases loaded walk in the fourth and a home run in the sixth inning. The Lady Canes led 2-0 with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning; added two more runs in the fourth to lead 4-1; added two additional runs in the sixth inning and one more in the seventh. Cartersville out hit Calhoun 11-7 in the contest. Ava Perkins took care of the Cartersville pitching duties, tossing a complete game. The hurler scattered seven his and three walks while striking out six to earn the victory. Like Arnold, Elizabeth Nelson had a three hit performance with one RBI. Mikey Lewis, Jordan Bishop (RBI), Layne Callan (RBI), Campbell Rogers, and Erin McCrary finished with one hit apiece for the Hurricanes. The loss for Calhoun (8-3, 4-1) was their first in region play and as a result, Cartersville (5-5-1, 4-1) moves into a first place tie in the Region 7-5A standings. Woodland, rained out on Tuesday, is one-half game back. Cartersville plays at Hiram next Tuesday at 5:55 p.m.

The August Elite Athlete of the Month representing Cartersville High School is Jordan Bishop. She is the daughter of Kamila and Jerry Bishop. A sophomore catcher on the Lady Canes’ softball team, Bishop has a .519 batting average with two home runs and seven RBIs through her team’s first ten games. She also has five stolen bases. “Jordan plays at such a high level right now,” said Cartersville softball coach Glen Woodard. “She has shown improvement from her freshman year to now. Taylor Evans is the August Elite Athlete of the Month for Adairsville High School. A sophomore shortstop on the Lady Tigers’ softball team, she is the daughter of Carlos and Erin Evans. “Taylor leads by example,” said Adairsville softball head coach Amanda Nelson. “She is a great teammate and works hard. Her attitude can be seen and heard anytime our team is preparing or competing. Taylor helps those around her, genuinely wants others to succeed and keeps the energy and positivity vibing. Her leadership is a difference-maker and I’m glad she’s a Tiger,” concluded Nelson. Evans has a 4.0 GPA while taking Honors and Advanced Placement courses in the medical field magnet program. The Cass High School Elite Athlete of the Month for August is Ansley Hight. Hight is the daughter of Adam and Lori Hight. She has opened her senior softball season hitting .560 with 19 RBIs and 5 homeruns in her first nine games. She has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Southern Mississippi where she will compete in Conference USA with the Golden Eagles. Hight currently carries a 3.5 GPA. Kwadrus Wilson represents Woodland High School as the August Elite Athlete of the Month. A three-sport junior athlete and football captain, Wilson is the son of Derrick Wilson and Lashic Young. “Kwadrus is the epitome of what we’re trying to build our football team on,” said Wildcats head football coach Brandon Haywood. “His consistency and personality is contagious and vital to our team’s success. To know Kwad is to love him! He’s one of the best people I’ve had the privilege to coach.” Wilson is a defensive lineman, wrestles in the 285 weight class, and is a catcher with the baseball team. He is undecided with his future academic plans but hopes to play college football. MILLER FORRISTALL — Cleveland Browns (2nd yr. pro; NFL; Alabama; Cartersville HS) … the 24-year-old tight end caught two passes Saturday for 13 yards including one for a touchdown in the Browns’ preseason finale’ 21-20 loss to the Chicago Bears. His six yard touchdown reception came early in the fourth quarter. Cleveland, 1-2 in the preseason, opens the regular season Sunday, September 11 at the Carolina Panthers. PRO BASEBALL SAM HOWARD — Toledo Mud Hens (9th yr. pro; Triple-A Detroit Tigers organization; Georgia Southern; Cartersville HS) … made two appearances this past week at home against the Louisville Bats. Tuesday he was touched for two earned runs on two hits including a homer and only retired one batter in the eighth inning of a 7-3 loss. Saturday, the 29-year-old lefty did walk a batter but retired the other two batters he faced in the eighth inning. The appearance earned Howard his sixth hold of the season as the Mud Hens won 3-0. Toledo (65-56) is in third place in the International League’s West Division trailing Nashville by 8.5 games. The Mud Hens play a six game series Tuesday through Sunday at the Rochester Red Wings. ANTHONY SEIGLER — Hudson Valley Renegades (5th yr. pro; High Class-A New York Yankees organization; Cartersville HS) … in five games last week at home against the Hickory Crawdads, the switch hitting catcher was 2-for-16 at the plate with five walks, three runs scored, and four RBIs. For the season Seigler has a .235 batting average with seven home runs and 39 RBIs. He also has 16 stolen bases. Hudson Valley (66-53 overall) is 32-21 in the second half standings and leading the South Atlantic League North Division by 0.5 game with only 12 regular season games remaining. The Renegades host the Jersey Shore Blueclaws Tuesday through Sunday in the six game series.

The Woodland girls were fourth and the Wildcat boys were seventh Saturday at the 30th Ridge Ferry Invitational in Rome. Tyler Jones ran to a fourth place individual finish in 16:42 to lead the Woodland boys. Emma Segars placed 13th overall in 21:53 to lead the Lady Cats. Creekview won the girls team championship followed by Lovett, River Ridge, and the Lady Cats. Armuchee was fifth. North Paulding, North Cobb, Kell, Kennesaw Mountain, and Rome rounded out the top ten girls teams. The girls race included 15 teams and 108 runners. The Wildcats were seventh of 17 total teams in a race that included 143 runners. North Paulding won the team race by one point over Rome. Creekview, Armuchee, and Darlington rounded out the top five and Lovett was sixth. Other top finishes for the Woodland girls: Miranda Pelow (19th, 22:11), Olivia Berry (27th, 22:36.50), Abby George (28th, 22:36.90), and Danielle Thayer (36th, 23:12). Shelby Green of Armuchee won the individual girls race in 18:31. Other top finishes for the Woodland boys: Drew Thayer (28th, 18:07), Landon McSwain (51st, 18:57), Rowan Lee (58th, 19:16), Andy Forsyth (60th, 19:16.70), and Kameron Chappell (61st, 19:16.80). Woodland will host their 16th annual Run at the Rock Invitational Saturday on the school’s campus. Adairsville cross country teams open ’22 season The Adairsville High cross country teams opened the 2022 season Saturday at the Front Runner 5 Star Stride hosted by Heritage High School in Ringgold. While the Lady Tigers did not field a full team, the Tigers placed tenth of 18 participating teams. The boys team competition was won by Dalton, followed by Cedartown and Central-Carroll. Tucker Henderson of LaFayette won the boys race in 16:44. Adairsville was led by Griffin Bozeman who placed 20th overall in 19:00. He was followed by teammates Eli Pearson (21st, 19:03), Michael Spinks (61st, 20:38), Dutch Hernandez (63rd, 20:41), and Cody Teer (103rd, 22:57) Callie Viktora (24:42) of the Lady Tigers finished 29th of 111 runners. Caroline O’Kelley was 34th in 25:01. Next for Adairsville is the Rocky Face Invitational September 8 in Dalton.

Cass softball suffered a pair of losses Saturday participating in the Allatoona Bucs Bash at North Paulding High School. The Lady Colonels were shutout by Lowndes 9-0 in the opener and lost 11-2 to the host Wolfpack in their second game. Pitchers for the Lowndes Lady Vikings limited Cass to just three hits in the first game. Alexis Woods singled and reached by error twice. Darianna Sosa and Reese Howard had the other Lady Colonels hits. Against North Paulding, the Wolfpack broke open a 3-2 game in the bottom of the fourth inning with seven hits and a pair of walks to push across eight runs. Cass again managed only three hits. Ansley Hight drove in both Colonels’ runs with a double in the third inning. Haylee Dishmon had the other two hits including one double. The Lady Colonels (5-6, 2-2 Region 7-5A) play at Woodland Tuesday at 5:55 p.m. and will travel to Pickens Thursday for a non-region game with the Dragons.

Three of the four local teams came away with home victories Friday night as the community enjoyed a full slate of high school football action. The Woodland Wildcats and new head coach Brandon Haywood earned their first win of the year in a 34-0 blanking of Coosa. No. 1-ranked Cartersville started slowly, but cruised to a 38-16 win at Weinman Stadium over the Jonesboro Cardinals. Adairsville and Cherokee Bluff Bears battled back-and-forth through the evening and went to overtime before the Tigers squeaked out a dramatic 51-50 victory. Cass was the only local team to fall on Friday. The Colonels dropped a 30-21 decision to the visiting Rockmart Yellow Jackets. WOODLAND 34, COOSA 0 Isaiah Livsey scored on a pair of touchdown runs Friday night as the Wildcats blanked the visiting Eagles 34-0. Woodland scored all 34 points in the first half. Quarterback Brelace Williams tossed a touchdown pass to Jay Walker and defensive lineman Kwadrus Wilson returned a fumble for a touchdown for the second week in a row as the Wildcats built an early 21-0 lead. Ray Glover also added a touchdown run for Woodland. The Wildcats (1-1) host Woodland next Friday, September 2 in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. The game will be broadcast on BartowSportsZone.com with pregame coverage scheduled for 6 p.m. CARTERSVILLE 38, JONESBORO 16 After posting only three points in the first quarter Friday night on a 22-yard Jesus Gutierrez field goal, Cartersville scored on all four second quarter possessions to build a 31-0 halftime lead over the Cardinals. Canes’ quarterback Paul Gamble tossed second quarter touchdown passes to Ja’mauri Brice, Romo Pace (52-yards), and Collin Fletcher (32-yards). He also scored on a two-yard keeper as the No. 1-ranked Hurricanes took control. Luke McBride also scored a touchdown for Cartersville on a two-yard run putting the Canes up 38-0. Jonesboro added two touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions in the second half on an 18-yard touchdown run and an interception returned for a touchdown. Gamble, who was 6-for-9 passing also rushed for 55 yards. Kristian Lando (34 yards), McBride (50 yards), and Jachai Delgado (31 yards) contributed to the Hurricanes’ 178 rushing yards. Next for Cartersville (2-0) is a road test at Allatoona next Friday at 7:30 p.m. ADAIRSVILLE 51, CHEROKEE BLUFF 50 (OVERTIME) The Tigers opened the 2022 season with a thrilling 51-50 overtime win Friday night over visiting Cherokee Bluff. The deciding points came on a courageous two-point conversion play that sealed the opening win for Adairsville and new head coach Jon Cudd. The Bears and Tigers traded scores much of the night with Adairsville leading 28-16 at the end of the first quarter. Cherokee Bluff scored on an intercpetion return for a touchdown in the second quarter to make the score 28-23 at halftime. Following a scoreless third quarter, the Bears grabbed a 29-28 lead with a short rushing touchdown with just over five minutes remaining in the game. Adairsville quarterback Jonathan Gough responded on the Tigers next possession with a 76-yard touchdown pass. Chris Roper then tossed a two-point conversion pass to Charlie Ray as Adairsville took a 36-29 lead. Perry Haynes broke loose for a 76-yard touchdown run for the Bears with approximately four minutes remaining. The PAT kick tied the score at 36-all. At about the two minute mark, Caden Copeland put the Tigers up again with a 76 yard touchdown scamper. Cooper Souders PAT kick gave Adairsville a 43-36 lead. The Bears answered in the final minutes to send the game into overtime. Max Eubanks hauled in a 65-yard touchdown pass and the PAT kick knotted the score again at 43-all. In overtime, the Cherokee Bluff quarterback scored on a two-yard run and kicker Michael Arbour made the point after for a 50-43 Bears advantage. Adairsville answered again however. Chris Roper scored on the Tigers’ overtime possession with a 15-yard run and that set up the game winning two point conversion — also a run by Roper. The Tigers (1-0) travel to Rabun County Friday, September 2 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. ROCKMART 30, CASS 21 Trailing 27-21 at home in the fourth quarter Friday night, the Colonels reached the red zone but could not capitalize in an eventual nine point loss to Rockmart. After stopping Cass, Rockmart’s Lanear McCrary broke loose on a 78-yard run deep into Colonels’ territory to set up a 33 yard field goal by Jose Alegria that sealed the Yellow Jackets 30-21 win. Dennis Sims scored two touchdowns for Rockmart. The first was a 95-yard opening kickoff return and the other was a 62-yard pass reception from J.D. Davis. Cam Ferguson had a two-yard touchdown plunge late in the first quarter that gave the Jackets a 13-7 lead and McCrary scored on a 23-yard run midway through the second quarter as Rockmart built a 27-14 halftime lead. Devin Henderson, who started at quarterback, scored on a two-yard keeper in the first quarter to make the score 7-7. Following a long kickoff return by Sacovie White to the Rockmart 23 yard line, Cass went ahead 14-13 on an 11-yard touchdown run by Mac Nelson. Coach Steve Gates inserted freshman quarterback Brodie McWhorter in the second half and he responded with the first touchdown pass of his high school career. With 7:06 to go in the third quarter, McWhorter found White on a crossing route and the junior receiver weaved his way into the end zone. That narrowed Rockmart’s lead to 27-21. The Colonels had opportunities in the final 18 minutes, but failed to score again. Rockmart, ranked No. 6 in Class 2A, improved to 1-1. Cass (0-2) hosts Drew next Friday in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

Woodland and Dalton needed nine innings Thursday night in Whitfield County to decide their Region 7-5A tilt. The two teams were tied 3-3 through the regulation seven frames before trading two runs each in the eighth inning. Woodland added two more in the top of the ninth and escaped with a one-run win although Dalton got the potential tying run to third base. Peyton Dorn (2 IP, 3ER, 4H, 1BB) picked up the pitching win for the Lady Cats in relief of starter Haley Collum (6 IP, 3ER, 5H, 1BB, 3K). Ashlyn Baines (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 0BB, 1K) earned a one-inning save. Sophomore Jordan Hammonds had four hits to pace the Woodland offense. Freshman third baseman Kamryn Smith had three hits and three RBIs that included a dramatic two-run home run in the eighth inning. Her single in the top of the ninth drove in the Wildcats’ crucial seventh run. Dorn (double, RBI), Collum (RBI), and Mackenzie Araya finished with one hit each. Cambrie Carrington added one RBI. The loss dropped the Catamounts to 1-6 on the season and 0-4 in region play. Woodland (6-5, 3-1) hosts Cass Tuesday at 5:55 p.m. Ringgold takes battle of Tigers at Adairsville, 6-5 Ringgold scored all six of its runs in the first two innings Thursday then held on to win at Adairsville, 6-5. Ringgold scored twice in the top of the first inning and added a four-run second inning in the win. Adairsville narrowed the deficit to 6-3 in the bottom of the second and scored two more times in the fourth inning, but could do no more damage. Megan Gregory (6.2 IP, 4ER, 7H, 4BB, 8K) was saddled with the pitching loss for Adairsville. Jordan Clay (0.1 IP, 2ER, 2H, 2BB, 1K) retired the final out in the seventh inning. Brie Patterson had two hits with two RBIs for the locals. Halle Chason tripled and drove in a pair of runs. Annalee Morris contributed a double. Chelsea Bates and Alissa Winters added one hit apiece for Adairsville. Ringgold improved to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Region 6-AAA. Adairsville (5-5-1, 1-2) entertains Ridgeland in another region game Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Cartersville pushed across single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings Thursday night to defeat visiting Cass, 3-1, in Region 7-5A action. Cass led 1-0 with a run in the top of the first driven home with a line drive single by Dariana Sosa. Cartersville tied the score in the bottom of the fourth when Campbell Rogers tripled home a run. In the fifth inning, Elizabeth Nelson singled to start the Canes’ frame. She then stole second and moved to third base on a sacrifice by Layne Callan. Kiley Arnold followed with a ground out to scored Nelson for a Cartersville 2-1 lead. The Lady Canes added an insurance run in the next inning when Rogers doubled home Jordan Bishop. Pitching on both sides was solid. McKinley Chada (6 IP, 0R, 3H, 2BB, 1K) picked up the pitching win for Cartersville working six shutout innings in relief of Canes’ starter Kennedy Stevens (1 IP, 1ER, 4H). Emma Gibson (6 IP, 3ER, 4H, 6BB, 5K) pitched all six innings for Cass striking out five. Rogers led the Cartersville offense with two extra base hits and two RBIs. Erin McCrary and Nelson had the other Purple Hurricanes’ hits. Ansley Hight had two hits for Cass including a triple. Sosa (RBI), Braelyn Franklin (triple), Haylee Dishmon, Reese Howard, and Alexis Woods had one hit each for the Lady Colonels. Cass (5-4, 2-2) will play two games Saturday at North Paulding in the Allatoona Bucs Bash. The Colonels will face Lowndes at 10 a.m. and the host Wolfpack at 2 p.m. Cartersville (4-5-1, 3-1) plays at Calhoun Tuesday at 5:55 p.m.

In local volleyball action Thursday night, Cass defeated visiting Rockmart in a best-of-five, non-region match while Cartersville split a pair of non-region matches at The Storm Center. Woodland, also playing at home Thursday, suffered a heartbreaking loss to East Paulding in five sets. In Carroll County, Adairsville lost a pair of road matches to Central-Carroll and Temple. Lady Colonels top Rockmart Cass volleyball defeated visiting Rockmart 3-1 in a best-of-five, non-region match Thursday night. The Colonels won the first two sets 25-11 and 25-15. Rockmart won the third set 25-21 before Cass closed out the match with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set. Cass (6-5) participates in the Rockmart Invitational Saturday at Rockmart High School where they will open competition against Chattooga. Lady Canes split matches at The Storm Center Cartersville volleyball dropped a 25-10, 25-16 decision Thursday night to visiting Cherokee, but bounced back later in the evening to take down Cambridge in straight sets, 25-19 and 25-7. The Hurricanes (3-5) are scheduled to face Sonoraville, Columbus, and North Cobb Christian Saturday at the Calhoun Invitational. Adairsville drops two road matches In non-region matches Thursday night in Carroll County, the Lady Tigers lost 25-17, 25-18 to Central-Carroll and dropped another match to host Temple 26-24 and 25-22. Jordan Hartline had six kills in the two matches combined. Jenna Claire Hendley finished with nine blocks. Annie McCormick totaled nine assists and Sherry Wells contributed 24 digs. Richlyn Blair had four blocks in the loss to Central. Addie Pearson had three kills in the loss to Temple and Jayna Wilson added four blocks in the Temple match. “It was a very rough night for us,” said Adairsville coach Kaylie Vaughn Martin. “We worked very hard and couldn’t finish points. We’re ready for practice tomorrow and preparation for next week.” Adairsville (5-7-2) plays at Christian Heritage next Tuesday at 6 p.m. Lady Cats lose heartbreaker The Woodland volleyball team suffered a difficult five set loss at home Thursday night to East Paulding. The visiting Lady Raiders won the first and third sets 25-15 and 25-20 while the Lady Cats took the second and fourth sets 25-23 and 25-18. East Paulding won the fifth set 15-3. “We had all the momentum after winning the fourth set,” said Woodland coach David Condon. “Unfortunately, we just fell apart in that deciding set.” Kendall Condon had 30 assists on the night to go with 13 digs and five kills. Madison West totaled 13 kills, three aces, and two blocks. Anastyn Jones finished with nine kills, nine digs, and a pair of aces. Lili Womack contributed a dozen digs and four aces while Bailee Motes added five kills and nine digs. Woodland (3-9-1) is home next Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Model and Coahulla Creek.

The go-ahead hit in the seventh inning for Woodland was a three-run double off the bat of shortstop Cambrie Carrington. She finished with two hits and six RBIs. All of Woodland’s runs came in just two frames. The Wildcats trailed 4-0 when they scored seven times in the top of the third inning. They then fell behind 11-7 before posting the five-spot in the seventh. Jordan Hammonds (2 RBIs), Karmen Zeferino (RBI), Elizabeth Hartsfield (double, RBI), Alana Carnes (RBI), Bailey Sakacsi, Kamryn Smith, and Haley Collum added one hit each for the Lady Cats. Lady Colonels hold on to edge Hornets Cass softball built a 7-0 lead in the first two innings at home Tuesday night against Hiram and then held off the Hornets for a 7-6 Region 7-5A win at the Cass High Athletic Complex. Alexis Woods had two hits at the plate and picked up the pitching victory for the Lady Colonels with 5-2/3 innings of work in the circle. She allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and four walks while fanning four. Hiram (3-3, 0-3) threatened down the stretch with three runs in the fourth inning and four more in the sixth. A pair of Cass infield errors in the top of the seventh put the potential go-ahead runs on base for the Hornets before Colonels’ reliever Emma Gibson slammed the door with two groundouts and a fly out. Gibson, who produced one hit on offense, earned a save by closing out the final four outs in the circle. She did not yield a run and gave up just one base hit. Braelyn Franklin also had two hits for Cass including one RBI. Reese Howard finished with one hit and two RBIs. Ansley Hight drove in a run with a double and Haylee Dishmon contributed one hit and one RBI. Tigers split region opening doubleheader The Lady Tigers scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning Tuesday evening, then held off visiting Bremen down the stretch for an 11-8 Region 6-AAA win in the first of two games. Bremen threatened late with eight runs across the final four innings, but Adairsville reliever Jordan Clay (1 IP, 2R, 1ER, 3H) was able to close out the final frame to secure the Tigers’ win. In Game 2, Bremen turned the tables to win 11-1 in six innings. The Blue Devils posted five runs in the third inning, two in the fifth, and added four insurance runs in the top of the sixth for their 11-run total. The lone Adairsville run crossed in the fifth inning. Halle Chason had two hits for Adairsville including one double in the loss. Patterson (RBI), Young, Gregory (double), Pullum, and Morris added one hit each for the Lady Tigers. Clay (3.1 IP, 5R, 1ER, 2H, 3BB, 1K) made the Game 2 start in the circle for Adairsville and was tagged with the pitching loss. Gregory (2 IP, 3R, 2ER, 2H, 2BB, 2K) and Bates (0.2 IP, 3R, 2ER, 2H, 1BB, 1K) also pitched for the Tigers. Adairsville (5-4-1, 1-1) hosts Ringgold Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Adairsville volleyball swept a pair of home matches Tuesday night over Temple and Dalton Academy. The host Tigers beat Temple 25-20, 25-15 as Jenna Claire Hendley, Addie Pearson, and Jordan Hartline finished with three kills each. Jayna Wilson produced eight blocks and three service aces while Adysen Garvey also finished with three aces. In a 25-6, 25-10 win over Dalton Academy, Richlyn Blair had 10 kills. Pearson finished with four kills, and Hendley added six service aces. Adairsville (5-5-2) travels to Temple Thursday where they will also face Central-Carroll. ECA volleyball sweeps Covenant Christian Excel Christian Academy volleyball improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in their GAPPS region with a straight sets win Tuesday over Covenant Christian of Cedartown. The Lady Eagles won 25-22, 25-13, and 25-16 to take the best-of-five sets match. Excel hosts Unity Christian Saturday at 11 a.m. Woodland splits non-region matches with Campbell, Sprayberry The Lady Cats split a pair of non-region volleyball matches Tuesday night in Marietta, falling to Campbell 25-21, 25-15 before bouncing back to defeat host Sprayberry 25-23, 25-16. Madison West had 10 kills, seven digs, and two aces for the Wildcats. Kendall Condon finished with 13 assists, six digs, and three aces. Anastyn Jones contributed seven kills and eight digs. Lili Womack totaled 16 digs with four assists. Woodland (2-8-1) hosts East Paulding Thursday afternoon. Cartersville volleyball suffers losses The Lady Canes dropped a pair of matches Tuesday night at South Forsyth, narrowly falling to the hosts 25-23, 25-23 before losing to Creekview 25-18, 27-25. Cartersville (2-4) will host Cherokee and Cambridge Thursday at The Storm Center starting at 5:30 p.m. Cass falls on the road The Lady Colonels dropped non-region road matches Tuesday night at LaFayette, losing to the host Ramblers 26-24, 25-13 and Armuchee 25-18, 25-21. Cass (5-5) hosts Gordon Lee and Rockmart Thursday starting at 5 p.m.

Kingston’s Maggie Ashmore fired rounds of 68-70-73-69 — 280 last Thursday through Sunday to finish tied for 18th place in Stage I Qualifying School for the LPGA and Epson Tour. Stage I Qualifying was conducted on the Palmer and Dinah Shore Tournament courses in Rancho Mirage, California The 72-hole event had a 54-hole cut with the Top 100 and ties advancing to Stage II Qualifying October 18-21 on the Bobcat and Panther courses of Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida. Ashmore, 27, turned professional in 2020 after her collegiate career at Augusta University. In six 2022 appearances on the Epson Tour, she has made one cut finishing tied for 21st at the Twin Bridges Championship. In her rookie season in 2020, she played in two events and made one cut.
