Cass teams swept at Sequoyah

The Cass High School basketball teams were swept in a pair of Region 7AAAAA makeup games Wednesday night at Sequoyah.

The Lady Chiefs and Chiefs remained atop the sub-region A standings with their wins.

The Lady Colonels trailed from the onset against a Sequoyah defense that made it difficult for Cass to get good looks at the basket. Sequoyah took a 14-4 lead after one quarter and stretched that lead to 32-5 at the intermission.

Ayssa Cagle led the Lady Chiefs with 15 points. Kelley Hartman scored seven points. Peyton Satterfield and Lauren Hartman both added five points. Jana Morning scored four points for Cass, followed by Jaclyn Hazelwood and Esmeralda Thomas with three and two points, respectively.

The Sequoyah girls remained undefeated in region play at 10-0. The Lady Chiefs improved to 19-3 overall.

The loss drops the Lady Colonels’ season mark back to the .500 mark at 11-11. They are 3-8 in Region 7AAAAA.
