Cartersville cheer team continues to set the pace

The Cartersville High School competition cheer team maintained its impressive streak on Saturday, winning first place for the third consecutive time at the Allatoona Invitational.
Cartersville previously won the Class 5A division at Buford on September 26 and at Roswell on September 19.
The Lady Canes posted their second-highest point total of the season on Saturday, 103. The team has averaged 102.8 through its first three competitions and cleared the runner-up in their classification at each meet by an average of 16.2 points. Cartersville also posted the best score in every classification at all three meets.

The Adairsville competition team has Class 4A wins on September 19 at North Forsyth and September 26 at Calhoun. The Tigers have a season-high score of 79.
Woodland was runner-up at Central-Carroll on September 26 with an 83.5. The Wildcats have averaged 80.3 and also competed at Pepperell earlier in the season.
Cass has averaged 62 points through invitationals at Pepperell, Calhoun, and Allatoona.
Cartersville has two more meets: Whitewater on October 24 and home on October 31, before the Region and Class 5A Sectional Championships at Allatoona on November 7. Woodland and Cass will also compete at the Allatoona Sectional.
Adairsville is scheduled to compete at Creekview on Saturday and host on October 17. Woodland and Cass will compete at Adairsville on October 17, and Woodland and Adairsville will also perform at Cartersville on October 31.
The Class 4A Region and State Sectional for Adairsville will be at West Laurens on November 7.
