Visiting Model sweeps Woodland

MODEL GIRLS 67, WOODLAND 32

The Woodland girls hung tough Saturday afternoon in the first quarter against unbeaten Model, but the visiting Lady Blue Devils stretched a four point lead after one quarter to a 19-point advantage by halftime and then cruised to their fifteenth win in fifteen games.

Gabby Bradley led Woodland with nine points. Eryikah Pender scored eight for the Lady Cats. Lyric Curtis added seven. Victoria Sexton led the visitors with 24.

The Lady Cats slipped to 3-10 on the season with the loss and will return to Region 7AAAA play next week at Creekview Tuesday and at home against Dalton Friday. Both games are 6pm starts.

MODEL BOYS 54, WOODLAND 43

The visiting Model Blue Devils outlasted the Woodland Wildcats Saturday afternoon at Woodland High School in a non-region matchup, 54-43.

Model had leads of 29-22 at halftime and 46-31 after three quarters. Woodland was led by Jonathan Pritchett's 13 points. Brady Jernigan added 11. Justice Hayes drew a pair of charges.

Model improved to 9-4 on the season. Woodland fell to 3-9.

The Wildcats play at Creekview Tuesday and host Dalton Friday in a pair of Region 7AAAA games.
