Tigers win third straight


ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 57, SOUTHEAST WHITFIELD 49


The Adairsville Tigers used a strong fourth quarter Tuesday night to power past Southeast Whitfield 57-49 in a non-region game in Dalton.


It was Adairsville's third straight win and the Tigers' fifth in six games.


The host Raiders led Tuesday night for three quarters, but the Tigers won the battle of the final eight minutes 22-9 to take the come-from-behind win.


Southeast Whitfield led 12-9 after one quarter and 27-22 at halftime, before taking a 40-35 lead to the final period.


Cody Henderson scored a game-high 21 points to lead Adairsville. James Sims also reached double figures with 10 points. Ethan Belcher scored nine; Hunter Hice eight; Grayson Dailey and Ronald Hardin four each; and Cole Hewett added one.


Luke Johns led the Raiders (4-6) with 17 points. Keaton McCutchen added 10.


Adairsville (7-4) is scheduled to play in the Fannin County High School Mountain Top Tournament December 27-29.





SOUTHEAST WHITFIELD GIRLS 57, ADAIRSVILLE 36


The Lady Tigers hung in the game at Southeast Whitfield for three quarters Tuesday night, but were outscored 18-1 in the fourth quarter of a 57-36 loss.


Maddie Pearson scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Lady Raiders to their win.


Adairsville trailed 16-14, 26-22, and 39-35 at the end of the first three quarters.


Nakiyah Washington scored 11 points; Josie Summerville 10, and Zay Harris six for the Lady Tigers.


Southeast Whitfield improved to 8-2 with their victory.


Adairsville (4-6) plays December 28 in the Haralson County Holiday Tournament where they will face Rockmart.
