Woodland boys stopped by North Cobb

The Woodland boys basketball team lost to North Cobb 61-24 Monday afternoon at the Paulding County High School Hoopsgiving Classic.


North Cobb led 7-6 after one quarter and outscored the Wildcats 23-6 in the second period to take a 30-12 lead at halftime. The Warriors then posted 23 more points in the third quarter to lead 53-19 on their way to a 37-point decision.


Freddy Woods led North Cobb with 16 points. Kevin Hester scored nine while Trent Lee and Keanu White dropped in eight points each for the Warriors.


RJ Beaubrun was the top scorer for Woodland with seven points. Justice Carter scored five. Dawson Wilkins and Kenny Jinks added three points each. Charles Norman and Jaden Johnson finished with two points apiece. DiAnthony Heathcock and Hunter Johnson added one point each for the Wildcats.


North Cobb evened its season mark at 1-1 following a Saturday loss to host Paulding County.


Woodland (1-2) is scheduled to play again Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Paulding County tournament against Sprayberry.
