All four local high school girls teams suffer Friday losses


All four of the local high school girls basketball teams suffered region losses Friday night.

 

LAKEVIEW-FT. OGLETHORPE 47, ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 29


The Adairsville girls were outscored 20-6 in the third quarter Friday night to break open a close game in a 47-29 home loss to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe. The visiting Lady Warriors were up 21-12 at halftime, but led after three quarters 41-18.

Milijah Williams led LFO with 23 points. Anna Rountree added 20 for the Warriors.


Nakiyah Washington paced Adairsville with 12 points. Coriana McDaniel added six.


LFO improved to 9-13 overall and 6-8 in Region 6-AAA.

Adairsville (4-19, 1-13) travels to Haralson County Tuesday night for a 6 p.m. tip and plays at Murray County Friday night.




HIRAM 48, WOODLAND GIRLS 27


Sydney Jones led Hiram and all scorers with 18 points while Erial Owens added 13 for the Lady Hornets as they defeated Woodland Friday night 48-27.


Riley Jaussi and Madgie Robinson led Woodland with six points each.


Hiram evened its season and region marks to 12-12 and 7-7. Woodland (1-20, 1-13) travels to Carrollton Tuesday for a 6 p.m. start and plays at Villa Rica next Friday night at 6 p.m.




VILLA RICA 67, CASS GIRLS 40


Top-ranked Villa Rica (22-0, 13-0) beat Cass for the second time in seven days to remain undefeated on the season. The loss for the Lady Colonels was also their third in their last four games.


Cass (18-5, 10-5) hosts Chattahoochee in a non-region game Saturday at 3 p.m. before closing out the regular season Tuesday at Hiram.




LAGRANGE 50, CARTERSVILLE GIRLS 46 (OT)


The visiting Lady Canes caught LaGrange in the fourth quarter Friday night, but suffered an overtime loss to the Lady Grangers, 50-46. LaGrange led 10-5 after one quarter, 21-18 at halftime, and 36-33 at the end of three quarters, but Cartersville won the final period of regulation 13-10 to send the game to an extra four minutes tied at 46-all.


Cartersville failed to score in the overtime period and lost by four points.


Zaria Russell and Chaqueive Robinson led the Lady Grangers with 16 and 13 points, respectively.


London Shaw led the Lady Canes with 12 points. A’mya Davis followed with 11. Jamiya Moore tossed in six points. Lehla Thomas finished with five. Kierra Milline and Naijah Evans scored four points apiece while Haley Johnson added three.


LaGrange improved to 11-11 overall and 3-6 in Region 5-AAAA. Cartersville (10-11, 2-7) entertains region-leading Sandy Creek at The Storm Center Saturday at 3 p.m.
