The Georgia High School Association’s Reclassification Committee released the approved regions for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years on Tuesday from Thomaston, Georgia. The new region alignments for local schools included the following after the approved changes from appeals. REGION 7-AAAAA The new Region 7-AAAAA will include only six schools after Northview High School was granted approval to move from Region 7-AAAAA to Region 5-AAAAA. Local schools Cartersville, Cass, and Woodland will be combined with Blessed Trinity, Calhoun, and Hiram to form the six-school league. REGION 6-AAA Adairsville will be a member of the nine-school Region 6-AAA that also includes: Coahulla Creek, LaFayette, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, Murray County, North Murray, Ringgold, Rockmart, and Sonoraville. REGION 7-A PRIVATE Excel Christian Academy joins Christian Heritage, Darlington, Mt. Paran Christian, North Cobb Christian, and Walker to form a six-school region. Excel is the only non-football playing school in the league.

The Cass girls and boys basketball teams split a pair of non-region games Tuesday night at Lassiter. CASS GIRLS 70, LASSITER 20 The Cass girls basketball team blew out Class 7A Lassiter Tuesday night 70-20. The Lady Colonels led 14-7 after one quarter, 28-9 at halftime, and 52-18 after three periods. Cass was led by Claire Davis with 18 points and Ariana Hames with 16 points. Hailey Johnson followed with 11 points. Londaisha Smith scored six. Keara McDaniel, Taryn Callahan, and Justice Bennett posted four each. Amaya Ford and Mikaela Jackson contributed three points each. Alexis Woods added one point. Lassiter falls to 0-4 with the loss. Cass (2-0) hosts Lithonia Friday night at 6 p.m. LASSITER BOYS 53, CASS 44 The Cass boys suffered a difficult loss Tuesday night at Lassiter, 53-44. The Colonels led 11-7 after on period and 33-23 at halftime, but the host Trojans outscored Cass 10-5 in the third quarter to take a 38-33 lead into the final eight minutes. Down the stretch, Lassiter pulled away for a nine-point victory. “We played an ugly second half,” said Cass boys head coach Sean Glaze. “There are lots of teachable moments on the film. We’ll get back to it tomorrow.” Kyle Keener led the Trojans and all scorers in the game with 14 points. Greg Watkins added seven points and eight other Lassiter players scored. Jordan Ford led Cass with 12 points. Braxton Benham followed with 11. Ethan McIntyre tossed in seven points. Zay Jackson had six. C.J. Pipken posted five points and JaQuan Heard added three. The win improved Class 7A Lassiter to 3-2 on the season. Cass (1-2) opens the Chattooga Thanksgiving Classic Thursday with a 5:30 game against Northwest Whitfield.

Cartersville High grad Trevor Lawrence met a former Canes’ teammate on the gridiron Saturday and for the second time, the Tigers rolled up 52 points in a blowout win. Saturday, the Tigers and Lawrence passed for 272 yards and a season-high four touchdowns facing Wake Forest and former Canes’ all-state performer, JaCorey Johns. Lawrence has now gone a month without throwing an interception after tossing eight picks in his first seven games. Clemson, No. 3 in the College Football Playoff rankings, plays South Carolina (Nov. 30) and will be in the ACC championship game December 7. On the hardwoods, freshman Nakiyah Washington recorded a pair of double-doubles. The former Adairsville star had 49 points and 27 rebounds in three games for Piedmont. BASKETBALL CADE ARCHER (Reinhardt, Fr., Cartersville) — Archer recorded one offensive rebound in an 81-77 road loss to Montreat (NC) Saturday in Appalachian Athletic Conference action. Archer didn’t see any playing time in a 69-54 defeat against Truett McConnell Wednesday. JACQUEZ FOUNTAIN (Albany Tech, Fr., Cass) — Fountain scored eight points in each game as Albany Tech split a pair of contests with Enterprise State and Bishop State. In the loss to Enterprise State, Fountain had five rebounds and an assist. In Friday’s win, he chipped in four steals, three rebounds, and two assists. ASHTON HAGAINS (Kentucky, So., Cartersville native) — Hagans had three points, three assists, and two rebounds in the Wildcats’ upset loss to Evansville last Tuesday at home. The shocking defeat inside Rupp Arena saw Kentucky fall from first to ninth in the AP poll. WHITNEY HARRIS (Toccoa Falls, So., Woodland) — Harris scored 15 combined points, shooting 5-of-12 from beyond the arc, across two games last week. KIMORA McCLINIC (Middle Georgia State, Jr., Cartersville) — McClinic scored two points in eah of the Knights’ games over the past seven days. She added one rebound in 16 total minutes in losses to Vorhees (67-45) and Brenau (92-86). KYLA MICHIENZI (Piedmont, Fr., Cass) — Michienzi scored five points with one rebound in 12 minutes of an 84-67 home loss to Emory Wednesday. She saw four minutes but recorded no stats in a 75-69 win over William Peace Saturday in Danville, Virginia. JANA MORNING (Berry, Jr., Cass) — Morning struggled shooting from the floor but made up for it in other areas to help Berry defeat Brevard in its lone game of the week. Morning had four of her seven points from the foul line, while adding seven assists, three rebounds, and three steals. JAYLON PUGH (Furman, So., Cartersville) — Pugh went 4-of-6 from deep, scoring six points apiece, in wins over Charleston Southern and Southern Wesleyan last week. He also had one rebound in each game. JOSIE SUMMERVILLE (North Park, So., Adairsville) — Summerville started North Park’s two opening games of the season last week. She only played 28 total minutes as the Vikings routed Beloit 72-40 and Coe 72-47 over the weekend. Summerville totaled five points and five rebounds in Saturday’s victory over Beloit. She finished with seven points, three steals, and two rebounds in Sunday’s triumph over Coe. NAKIYAH WASHINGTON (Piedmont, Fr., Adairsville) — Washington recorded a double-double — her second in as many days — in her first career start in Sunday’s victory over Averett. She piled up 18 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, and a block in the win. She played 32 minutes, having seen her time on the court increase in every game thus far. Washington finished with 16 points, four rebounds, four steals, two assists, and a block in Wednesday’s loss. Saturday’s double-double against William Peace saw Washington score 15 points and pull down 13 rebounds. In total, 11 of her 27 rebounds for the week came on the offensive end of the floor. CARROD WATSON (North Georgia, Sr., Woodland) — Watson played 17 minutes, scoring five points, and added three rebounds in North Georgia’s two most recent games — a 75-68 home win to Emmanuel Wednesday and an 87-81 overtime loss to Southern Wesleyan Saturday. PRO FOOTBALL VIC BEASLEY (Atlanta Falcons; Adairsville) — Beasley recorded his fourth sack of the season as the Falcons defense completely dominated the Carolina Panthers Sunday in a 29-3 road win. It marks the second consecutive game that the Falcons have not allowed a touchdown. In total, Beasley had two tackles, taking him to 25 on the season with a pass defended. COLLEGE FOOTBALL TERRY BERDIN (Reinhardt, So., Cartersville) — Berdin had a 13-yard gain on his only carry in a 63-0 blowout win over Union College Saturday. Reinhardt finished the regular season 9-2. The Eagles will face Marian in the first round of the NAIA FCS championship Saturday in Indianapolis. CHRIS BLACKSTON (West Georgia, Sr., Adairsville) — Blackston finished as joint-leader in tackles during Saturday’s 42-14 loss to top-ranked Valdosta State. He had seven total stops, including four solo. BRYCE BURGESS (Reinhardt, So., Adairsville) — Burgess totaled 13 yards on three carries in Saturday’s win. MARCUS CHILDERS (Northern Illinois, R-Jr., Adairsville) — Childers ran for two touchdowns and picked up a huge first down late in the game to help set up the Huskies’ game-winning field goal in a 31-28 Wednesday win over Toledo. Despite conceding a majority of the quarterback reps to Ross Bowers, Childers has been a valuable weapon in spots for NIU. He completed all three of his pass attempts for 29 yards and totaled 57 rushing yards on just five attempts. His 40-yard touchdown run on an option keeper gave the Huskies a 14-7 lead, and his 1-yard sneak put the team ahead 28-7. Toledo rallied back to tie the game, but Childers went 11 yards on a third-and-2 play to help set up a 25-yard field goal for the win. DALEN CURTIS (Brevard, Jr., Cartersville) — Curtis was a starter but had no other stats in a 42-3 rout of Greensboro College (NC) Saturday on the road. KURTIS FEANEY (Lenoir-Rhyne, So., Woodland) — Feanny saw time a Lenoir-Rhyne completed an undefeated regular season with a 49-3 demolition of Catawba Saturday in Salisbury, North Carolina. LRU hosts Miles in the first round of the NCAA D-II playoffs this week. HUNTER HARDIN (Point, Jr., Woodland) — Hardin started at center as point topped Bluefield (VA) 24-6 Saturday at home. Point picked up 306 yards of offense in the win. SEAN HOLTON (Davidson, Jr., Cartersville) — As starting free safety, Holton finished with two tackles in Davidson’s 42-14 win over Stetson Saturday in DeLand, Florida. He also had a 10-yard TD pass to Frank Ladson Jr. Clemson has an open date this week ahead of a rivalry clash with South Carolina to end the regular season Nov. 30 in Columbia. EMMANUEL JONES (Colorado State, Jr., Woodland) — Jones had a monster game against Air Force, forcing a fumble and registering five tackles in a 38-21 loss Saturday at home. Of his handful of tackles, three were solo and 1.5 went for a loss. JACOB POTTER (Kennesaw State, So., Adairsville) — Potter and the Owls rolled to a 50-7 win over Hampton Saturday on the road. The 11th-ranked team in FCS will close out the regular season at home against Gardner-Webb this weekend. NICK ROOT (Carson-Newman, R-Fr., Cartersville) — Root saw action for the Eagles in a dominant 42-13 home win over Tusculum Saturday in Jefferson City, Tennessee. AVERY SHOWELL (Georgia Tech, R-So., Cartersville) — Showell finished with three tackles, including two solo, in a 45-0 loss to Virginia Tech Saturday in Atlanta. Three Bartow County Panthers youth football teams have reached the Northwest Georgia Youth Football League's Super Bowl games in their initial season in the league. The 9U and 12U Panthers will play for Division I titles in the NWGYFL, while the 10U Panthers will play for the 9/10 year old D2 championship. The games will be played this Saturday at North Cobb High School 9U BARTOW COUNTY PANTHERS 30, ROSS ELITE LONGHORNS 7 The 9U Bartow County Panthers advanced to the Northwest Georgia Youth Football League’s Super Bowl Saturday at North Cobb High School by defeating Ross Elite in the league semifinals this past Saturday, 30-7. Quarterback Trace Hawkins rushed for 65 yards and was 7-for-17 through the air for 117 yards and one touchdown. The touchdown pass was a 21-yarder to Solomon James, who also returned a fumble recovery 40 yards for a score. Three other Panthers scored rushing touchdowns in the victory. J’Tayvious Whatley rushed for 56 yards and one touchdown. Cooper Melvin added 36 yards and a score, while Kaiden Kent contributed 21 rushing yards and one touchdown. Kayden Blackwell and Kent had two catches each for 32 yards apiece. Lance Tippett hauled in one pass for 25 yards and Melvin added a seven yard reception. James, Melvin, and Nathan Woods were the top tacklers for Bartow County. Kent had an interception and Melvin also added a fumble recovery. The Panthers (9-0) will face the Acworth Warriors (8-2) in Saturday’s title game at 5 p.m. “Acworth has really continued to get better since our first game with them,” said Bartow coach Quintin Kent. “We expect the game Saturday to be a real battle.” Acworth defeated Rome 7-6 to reach the championship game. 10U BARTOW COUNTY PANTHERS 52, ACWORTH WARRIORS BLUE 0 Demarcus Ballenger paced the 10U Bartow County Panthers this past Saturday with three touchdown runs and scored a pair of extra points. The scoring runs by Ballenger were from 55, 20, and 10 yards. Jake Orton scored on touchdown runs of 65 and 40 yards. Grayson Warmack ran in a touchdown from five yards and added a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown. Jeremy Dent scored on a five yard run and Lawson Weeks scored a pair of extra points. Coach Jody Orton gave credit for Saturday’s success to the Panthers’ offensive line play. Colton Graham, Deon Winters, Tripp Powell, Jorian Bailey, and Tremon Buckner dominated the line of scrimmage according to Orton. Micah Pittman and Elijah Beaulieu had kickoff fumble recoveries for the Panthers. 10 Bartow County will square off against Rome Saturday at North Cobb High School at 1 p.m. for the 10U D2 championship. 12U BARTOW COUNTY PANTHERS 33, WINSTON KNIGHTS 6 The 12U Bartow County Panthers defeated the Winston Knights this past Saturday in the NWGYFL semifinals 33-6 to reach the league’s Super Bowl game. The title contest for Bartow will be a third meeting with the Douglasville TigerCubs Saturday night at 7 p.m. at North Cobb High School. Regular season champion Douglasville (8-2) handed the Panthers their only losses during the league’s regular season schedule. ​​ In this past Saturday’s dominant win over Winston, Bartow County (8-2) rolled up 338 rushing yards and 407 total yards. “The offensive line really opened up some holes,” said Panthers’ coach Josh McWhorter. “Peyton Emery, Piere Kincer, Judd Hyde, Bryce Wilson, Cooper Moon, Price Higgins, Xavier Parker, Davis Waddell, and Bear McWhorter all contributed in the rotation across the front.” Baylon Long led all rushers with 168 yards and two touchdowns on 10 attempts. He was followed by Isaiah Livsey with 90 yards and a pair of scores on eight carries. Livsey also caught a 12-yard touchdown pass. Keve Porter finished with 29 rushing yards on three carries and caught two passes for 30 yards. Jacob Ellis had 27 yards on five carries. Quarterback Brodie McWhorter, who was 5-for-9 passing for 69 yards and a touchdown, ran three times for 17 yards. Jachai Delgado contributed three carries for five yards and Cooper Moon added a two-yard carry. Xavier Parker and Logan Shrewsbury caught one pass each for 23 and 4 yards, respectively. “Our offense had one of its best performances of the year,” added McWhorter. “The defense also played sound against a great quarterback.” The Panthers allowed only 91 yards and one touchdown on 25 rushing attempts. The Knights were also limited to only 1-of-10 through the air for 24 yards. The Panthers picked off three Winston passes. Long led the Bartow County defense with 7.5 tackles. Ellis followed with 5.5 and Isaiah Livsey finished with four tackles. Talan Nix, Josh Love, and Shrewsbury had the interceptions for the Panthers’ defense. Rounding out the tackling stats for Bartow were Delgado with 2.5 tackles. Will Feurbach and Nix had two each. Shrewsbury (1.5), Bear McWhorter (1), Brodie McWhorter (1), Bailey Berry (1), Kelson Mitchell (.5) and Porter (.5) all contributed on defense. In 2018, the Cartersville competition cheer team narrowly defeated Denmark by one point for the Class AAAA state championship, so it was no surprise that the 2019 title came down to the Canes and Danes once again. This year the state title went to Denmark who won by five points over Cartersville, 92-87. The state runner-up finish for the Hurricanes was the best finish for a Bartow County squad at the GHSA State Championships in Columbus. Woodland won the Class AAAAA sectional title Friday night and finished fifth in the state finals Saturday. Adairsville, which won Region 6-AAA, competed in the state finals Saturday but did not place in the top six. Cass qualified for Friday's 16-team Class AAAAA state sectional, but did not advance to the finals on Saturday.

The Cass High School girls and boys basketball teams collected one sided wins Saturday. The girls routed Chattahoochee at home 66-17 while the boys defeated North Cobb Christian at LakePoint, 82-62. The Lady Colonels raced to a 16-2 advantage after one quarter and were never really threatened. The Cass lead was 31-12 at the intermission and 54-14 after three quarters. Claire Davis had 26 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. Londaisha Smith followed with 17 points and made five steals. Haley Johnson and Ariana Hames scored six points each. Mikaela Jackson contributed four points. Amaya Ford finished with three points while Justice Bennett scored two points with eight rebounds and four blocks. Keara McDaniel added two points for Cass. The loss dropped Chattahoochee to 1-1 on the young season. Cass (1-0) plays at Lassiter Tuesday night and hosts Lithonia Friday. Both games are 6 p.m. starts. COLONELS BOUNCE BACK WITH WIN OVER NORTH COBB CHRISTIAN The Cass boys bounced back from a season opening loss with a sound 82-62 victory Saturday over North Cobb Christian at the LakePoint Tip Off event in Emerson. “It was a good win today over a tough North Cobb Christian team,” said Cass boys coach Sean Glaze. “We had nine different scorers and displayed terrific defensive energy throughout the game.” North Cobb Christian led 20-18 after one quarter before Cass carried a 41-37 lead to the locker room at halftime. The Colonels led 61-50 after three periods and outscored North Cobb Christian 21-12 in the fourth quarter for a 20-point win. Zaylan Chaney and Braxton Benham paced Cass with 22 and 20 points, respectively. Jaquan Heard followed with 11 points — all scored in the first quarter. Jordan Ford had nine points. C.J. Pipkins scored eight. Zay Jackson finished with five points. Andrew Glaze contributed three, while Jacorey Jackson and Trey Scott chipped in with two each. Kami Young led the Eagles and all scorers with 33 points. Makhi Ma and Caleb Crumly tossed in 10 points each for North Cobb Christian. Josiah Scott added eight. The loss drops North Cobb Christian to 1-1 on the season. Cass (1-1) travels to Lassiter Tuesday night (7:30 p.m.) and will face Northwest Whitfield Thursday in the Chattooga Thanksgiving Tournament in Summerville in a 5:30 p.m. tip. The Colonels will challenge the host Indians at Chattooga Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Cartersville forced five, second-half turnovers and held off the Flowery Branch Falcons 14-6 Friday night at Weinman Stadium to advance to the second round of the GHSA Class AAAA playoffs. The top-ranked Hurricanes led 7-6 at halftime on a first quarter, Tee Webb to Kyler Johnson 26-yard touchdown pass and an Oscar Hernandez PAT kick. The Falcons narrowed the margin to 7-6 just before the intermission on a five-yard Jaizen Ellingham run, but Flowery Branch missed the extra point. The Falcons' scoring drive took advantage of a pair of Cartersville personal foul penalties. The first of the Falcons’ turnovers in the second half was a fumble recovered by Devonte Ross that set up the game’s final scoring play. On the very next play, Webb connected with Ross for a 49-yard touchdown pass with 9:58 remaining in the third quarter and that would be the final scoring of the night. Of the second half turnovers, none was more important than a Kolbe Benham interception with 1:25 remaining in the game. Benham, who had punched a ball free on the previous series leading to a Marquail Coaxum fumble recovery, went high in the air at the Cartersville 41-yard line to make a backward tumbling interception to seal the Canes' eight-point win. Also on the defensive side, Marko Dudley and La'Kwayme Jupiter had an interception and fumble recovery, respectively. Cartersville (11-0) will host Thomson, the No. 2-seed from Region 4-AAAA next Friday. JENKINS 41, ADAIRSVILLE 0 Running back Damozzio Harris ran for three touchdowns and the Warriors’ defense scored twice as 7th-ranked Jenkins blanked Adairsville Friday night at Savannah State University, 41-0. Clarence Patterson scored on a 24-yard scoop-and-score in the first quarter and Dajon Morgan returned an interception early in the second period for the defensive scores. Harris scored on runs from 12, 14, and 48 yards as the Warriors took a 35-0 lead to halftime. With a running clock in the second half, the only scoring was a three-yard, third quarter run by Donavan Hall. Jenkins (10-1) will host Dawson County next Friday in the second round. Dawson County defeated Westminster 27-3. Adairsville’s season ends with a 5-6 mark.

The Cass boys basketball team suffered a season opening loss Thursday night at Class 7A North Forsyth, 51-45. The host Raiders led 13-8 after one quarter and extended their lead to 34-16 at halftime. Cass continued to narrow the margin in the second half, but came up six points short. Bennett Helms led North Forsyth with 20 points. “We played hard in the second half,” said Colonels head coach Sean Glaze. “After trailing by 18 at halftime, we cut their lead to five points with three minutes remaining, but missed two layups and a three on the next three possessions. We lacked energy in the first half and dug a hole too deep. I think we learned a lot though.” Jordan Ford and Braxton Benham paced the Colonels with 15 and 13 points, respectively. Cartersville football had the most representatives on the All-Region 5-AAAA Team released Wednesday. The Canes had eight first-team members which was the most of any team in the region. Sandy Creek and Troup followed with seven each. Cedartown running back and Clemson University commit Kobe Pryor was named Player of the Year. Sandy Creek quarterback Matt Williams was tabbed Offensive Player of the Year, Central-Carroll linebacker and Chapel Hill defensive end Bradyn Swinson were picked as Co-Defensive Players of the Year. Cartersville wide receiver and cornerback Devonte Ross was selected as one of the best two-way players and received the Ironman Award. Ross shared the award with Brian Branch of Sandy Creek. The Special Teams Player of the Year was Central-Carroll’s C.K. Miller. Other Hurricanes recognized include: quarterback Tee Webb, receiver Sam Phillips, and offensive linemen Jonah Gambill and Matthew Surrett. Defensive lineman La’Kwayme Jupiter, linebacker Amarai Orr and defensive back Evan Slocum were named first-team all-region defense. Receiving second team recognition for Cartersville were receiver Kyler Johnson, offensive lineman Blake Woods, linebacker Jadon Martin, and defensive backs Marquail Coaxum and Marko Dudley. Kicker Oscar Hernandez was also selected to second team honors. Cartersville honorable mention honorees were defensive linemen Jesse Grogan and Omari Bailey, plus linebackers Harrison Allen and Gavin Geros.

A pair of Cartersville Recreation Department youth football teams and one from the Bartow County Recreation Department played in the Calhoun Rec Department's opening round of Pokey Bowl games this past Saturday. November 9 10U at Calhoun Recreation Department CARTERSVILLE HURRICANES (Nunn) 32, CALHOUN YELLOW JACKETS 26 Tyon Coe scored on touchdown runs of 62 and 74 yards and kicked four PATs for Hurricanes (Nunn). Jaylon Watkins had a 34 yard touchdown run and Kaleb Holton scored with an 18 yard dash. Sam Bailey, Coe, and Watkins were the top Cartersville defenders. For Calhoun, Jacob Hood scored three touchdowns on runs of 2, 4, and 18 yards. He also had a pair of PAT runs. Millsap was identified as the top defender for the Yellow Jackets. NOTE: This game was part of the Pokey Bowl tournament hosted by the Calhoun Recreation Department. Hurricanes (Nunn) advanced to the finals to play Hurricanes (Cagle) Saturday in the Calhoun High School stadium. 12U at Calhoun Recreation Department ROCKMART YELLOW JACKETS 25, CARTERSVILLE HURRICANES (Ezell) 0 Rockmart’s Devante Gardner caught two touchdown passes, scored on a 40 yard run, and had a pick-six interception return of 61 yards. The two scoring passes were thrown by Hagen Sharp from 44 and 46 yards. Cartersville’s Asa Mitcham and Rhys Neal were selected as the Hurricanes (Ezell) top defenders. CASS COLONELS 27, PEPPERELL DRAGONS 14 Cass QB Paul Lanier had a pair of touchdown passes to Caden Aleman from 52 and 35 yards. Kyron McClendon picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown and Lanier added a pair of PATs. The offensive line had an outstanding game to give Lanier time in the pocket to make plays. Derris Reece and Lorenzo Cotton made two tackles each on defense. Note: Cass advances to the next round in the Pokey Bowl hosted by Calhoun Rec. CARTERSVILLE HURRICANES (Parker) 27, DALTON 0 Luke Parker ran for a six yard touchdown and connected with Myles Mitchell for a 22-yard touchdown pass as Hurricanes (Parker) defeated Dalton 27-0. Mitchell added a 12 yard touchdown run and JaCaiden Leonard returned a punt 44 yards for a touchdown. Mitchell contributed two PAT runs and Parker completed a PAT pass to Thomas Smith. Myles Mitchell had several fourth down stops for the Cartersville defense. Adam Reed recovered a pair of Dalton fumbles. The Georgia Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association along with the Atlanta Track Club recently announced the 2019 Team Georgia selections. Woodland High School’s McKenna Trapheagen, who won back-to-back Class AAAAA individual state championships, was selected as the Girls Runner of the Year in Georgia. The team was selected by a committee of coaches from the Coaches Association who reviewed each athlete’s season performances including the state meet, head-to-head competition, and consistency throughout the season. Fifteen girls and fifteen boys were selected along with alternates. The Team Georgia runners will represent the state of Georgia at the Footlocker South Regional in Charlotte. Trapheagen and Lady Cats’ teammate Rylee Evans were also named Georgia Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-State team members for Class AAAAA. The two Woodland runners helped lead the Lady Cats to a Region 7-AAAAA championship and a Class AAAAA state runner-up finish in 2019. Over the course of her high school career, Trapheagen, who is expected to sign her National Letter of Intent with Georgia Tech Wednesday, helped Woodland win two state championships (2016, 2018) and finish runner-up twice (2017, 2019).
