Vic Beasley and the Atlanta Falcons evened their season record Sunday afternoon with a 31-24 win over the Carolina Panthers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. In college football, Marcus Childers threw for three touchdowns as Northern Illinois won its conference opener. Jonathan Cruz was perfect on his kicks and is closing in on a school record at Charlotte. Trevor Lawrence tossed another touchdown pass for 2nd-ranked Clemson, and Mark Quattlebaum hauled in his second career touchdown reception. Spencer Fields recorded an impressive early-season run for Rhodes College in Memphis and Birmingham Southern keeper Kurt Moore recorded a shutout in net for the Panthers. NFL VIC BEASLEY — Atlanta Falcons (4th yr. pro; DE, Clemson University, Adairsville HS)… had two tackles Sunday afternoon in the Falcons’ 31-24 victory over the visiting Carolina Panthers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. As they have done in the past against other mobile quarterbacks, Atlanta utilized Beasley in the final minutes as a non-rushing mirror to help contain Panthers’ QB Cam Newton. SEAN HOLTON — Davidson College (Soph., DB, Cartersville HS)… was credited with six tackles and a kick return for no yards in the Wildcats’ 91-61 home win over Guilford College. Davidson set a school record for points and broke the NCAA FCS record for total yards (964) in the game that was moved up to Thursday due to Hurricane Florence. LUCAS JOHNSON — Georgia State University (Sr., OL, Cass HS)… started his third straight game at left tackle contributing to an offense that rushed for 173 yards and passed for 139 yards in a 59-22 loss at Memphis. York finished fourth in the seven-team event behind two CMU teams and Denison University. Bonner placed 17th individually in the 43-player field. The Woodland girls cross country team, ranked second in Class AAAAA and fourth in all classifications in Georgia, dominated the 3rd annual Big Peach Mustang Stampede Saturday hosted by Hillgrove High School at Allatoona Creek Park. The Lady Cats took six of the top eleven spots in the race with McKenna Trapheagen (18:53) and Carli Clymer (19:19) taking the top two positions in the race. They were followed by teammates Rylee Evans (4th, 19:38), Angela Cochran (7th, 19:59), Baylee Evans (10th, 20:26), and Cheyenne Spinks (11th, 20:41). Woodland finished 29 points ahead of second place Etowah with Roswell, North Paulding, and Kennesaw Mountain rounding out the top five. The girls invitational included 19 schools and 125 runners. The Woodland boys placed eleventh of 21 boys teams. Newnan won the boys championship that included 144 runners. Marietta placed second and Roswell was third. John Shropshire led Woodland with a 32nd place finish in 18:06. He was followed by teammates Dylan Stermer (37th, 18:15), John Forsyth (75th, 19:06), Reece Mitchell (80th, 19:20), and Patrick Bollwerk (86th, 19:32), Kobe Cochran (96th, 19:55), and Ian Van Order (106th, 20:34). Woodland will run in the Wingfoot Classic Saturday at Sam Smith Park. CANES SECOND, LADY CANES THIRD IN INAUGURAL W2W INVITE The Cartersville boys, ranked eighth in Class AAAA, finished second to Class 7A West Forsyth in the Wire2Wire Running Invitational Saturday at Dellinger Park. The Cass boys were fifth in the five team event that also included Rockmart and Sprayberry. The Cartersville girls placed third of four girls teams. West Forsyth won the race by taking the top seven individual spots. Rockmart placed second and Sprayberry was fourth. The Hurricanes had seven runners to finish between fifth and fourteenth place. West Forsyth had seven runners in the top nine, including individual winner Jeremy Ericson (16:52). Bill Archer ran fifth overall to lead Cartersville in 17:19. He was followed by Alex Rios (8th, 17:46), Jacob Busek (10th, 18:45), Levi Booth (11th, 18:48), Colin McCann (12th, 18:49), Harrison Banks (13th, 18:49), and Banks Wilson (14th, 18:57). The Cass boys were led by Prem Patel (15th, 19:09), Bryce Kresho (17th, 20:11), Logan Van Stinj (31st, 22:06), Craigory Chatman (33rd, 22:41), and Brendon Waters (35th, 34:09). Vanna Beach led the Lady Canes with an 11th place finish in 23:22. She was followed by teammates Alice Terry (14th, 23:52), Trista Kelly (15th, 23:56), Jaxiry Bentoncourt (17th, 24:08), Trinity Atkins (22nd, 24:53), and Metzli Munoz (23rd, 24:54). Cass had a pair of individual runners in the girls race. Olivia Flynn finished 13th in 23:38. Stassija Banks was 31st. Cartersville competes next at the Wingfoot XC Classic Saturday at Sam Smith Park.

The Cartersville softball team was swept in a Region 5-AAAA doubleheader Saturday at LaGrange. The Lady Grangers took the opener with a final inning home run and won the second game with a two-RBI double in extra innings. LaGrange won the opener with a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh by Camden Smith. The Grangers loaded the bases in a 2-2 game with an infield error, a fielder’s choice, and a walk. Cartersville took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning when Cio Seigler scored on a double-steal play. The Lady Canes’ first run scored in the first inning on a Colbi Ballard RBI double. LaGrange tied the game with a pair of runs in their half of the fifth inning on back-to-back RBI singles by Destiny Fitzpatrick and Jacee Marable. In Game 2, LaGrange used a pair of singles by Marable and Smith followed by a two-RBI double by Macee Stone to break open a tie game in the top of the eighth inning. Cartersville had the potential tying runs on base in the bottom of the eighth, but were unable to push either runner across. Seigler had two hits including a solo home run in the second game. AnnaKate McElhaney (RBI), Ballard (RBI), and Lauren McElhaney had one hit apiece in each game. Ballard (14.1 IP, 10R, 8ER, 15H, 5BB, 12K) suffered both pitching losses. Camden Smith was the winning pitcher in both games for LaGrange. She tossed a complete-game in the opener and was a winner, tossing five innings of relief in Game 2. LaGrange improved to 15-5 overall and 7-2 in region games. Cartersville (8-11, 4-7) closes out the regular season this week at Chapel Hill Tuesday and at home Friday night against North Cobb. CASS GOES WINLESS AT SCORE INTERNATIONAL TOURNEY After dropping a pair of games Friday night at the Chattanooga Score International Invitational, the Lady Colonels again lost twice on Saturday. Sonoraville edged Cass 5-3 and Christian Heritage was an 11-2 winner over the Colonels. Rachael Lee finished the two games Saturday with three hits. Kelly Young and Hallie Owens had two hits and one RBI apiece. Haley Owens added one hit and one RBI. Eryn Lee, Maggie Collum, Macenzie Dougharty (double), and Kylee Hembree contributed one hit each. Lee (5 IP, 5R, 3ER, 9H, 1BB, 2K) was tagged with the pitching loss to Sonoraville although she allowed only three earned runs. Hembree (2 IP, 9R, 6ER, 8H, 1BB) and Dougharty (3 IP, 2ER, 6H, 1K) split the pitching duties in the loss to Christian Heritage. Cass (3-18) hosts Woodland Tuesday at 5:55 p.m. and travels to Hiram on Thursday.

Cartersville and Woodland improved to 4-0 Friday night with home victories. The Hurricanes handled their toughest challenge of the season by defeating Class AAAAAAA Cherokee 28-10 and the Wildcats stormed from behind twice to seize a 26-21 Homecoming Night and Region 7-AAAAA victory over Paulding County. Adairsville lost at Haralson County 51-28 and Cass dropped its third straight game 16-3 at Villa Rica. CANES IMPROVE TO 4-0 Marcus Gary (photo) ran for 112 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries and Sunni Moorehead recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown as Cartersville defeated visiting Cherokee, 28-10. Moorhead also added an interception that set up the Canes’ final touchdown in the fourth quarter. Cherokee’s defense limited Cartersville to their lowest first half output of the year (138 total yards and 14 points), but the Canes’ defense was even better. Cartersville limited the Warriors to zero yards rushing over the game’s first 24 minutes and allowed only 24 rushing yards in the game. The Warriors had 180 passing yards. Desmond Winters blocked a Cherokee punt on Cherokee’s first possession of the game. Moorehead’s end zone recovery gave the Canes a 7-0 lead only 90 seconds into the contest. Cherokee missed a 31-yard field goal attempt later in the quarter and Cartersville scored on back-to-back possessions to grab a 21-0 lead early in the second period. The Cartersville defense did allow a touchdown for the first time this season. Cherokee scored on a six-play, 61-yard drive in the opening seconds of the fourth quarter. The Warriors’ field goal came at the end of the third quarter. Cartersville quarterback Tee Webb was 15-of-37 passing for 72 yards and one interception. Moorehead finished with three tackles, one for loss, the interception and the touchdown on the blocked punt; Marquail Coaxum finished with six tackles, an interception (his second in the last two games) and a pass breakup; senior defensive end Bobby Harris had eight tackles, two for losses and a sack; junior outside linebacker Jadon Martin had eight tackles, three for losses; senior defensive end Isaiah Chaney had five tackles, two for losses; and Harrison Allen had eight tackles and one for loss. Cherokee slipped to 2-3 on the season with the loss. Cartersville (4-0) extended the state’s longest regular season winning streak to 42 games. The Hurricanes open Region 5-AAAA play next week at Cedartown. — Game stats provided by Jason Greenberg, The Daily Tribune News RESILIENT WILDCATS RALLY FOR HISTORIC HOMECOMING WIN Woodland kept finding ways to come back Friday night and ultimately rallied in the game’s final moments for a heart-stopping 26-21 homecoming victory over Paulding County. Paulding County went ahead 14-0 in the first quarter on a 58-yard opening drive and a 77-yard fumble recovery return for a touchdown. Smael Mondon capped the Patriots first possession scoring drive with an eight-yard scoring run and Austin Harrell scooped up a fumbled pitch and raced 77 yards to put Paulding up 14-0 following a pair of Matthew Frey PATs. Woodland narrowed the margin to 14-7 at halftime following the first of three 90-plus yard drives. Justice Carter (photo) scored the first of his two touchdowns on a two-yard run to cap a 91-yard Woodland drive that took 14 plays. The score and Ronny Ramirez PAT kick made the score 14-7 at halftime. Late in the third quarter, Woodland scored to tie the game 14-14. Again it was a 91-yard drive that took nine plays. Demarcus Williams did the scoring honors this time on a one-yard plunge. The Patriots regained the lead on the first play of the fourth quarter. Mondon took a direct snap on a fourth down play and raced 37 yards for a touchdown and a 21-14 advantage. Another long drive by Woodland gaven the Wildcats hope. Justice Carter powered his way into the end zone with 2:43 left in the game to culminate a 94-yard drive that took 13 plays. Trailing 21-20, Woodland head coach Tony Plott decided to roll the dice and take advantage of his team’s offensive momentum. The Wildcats lined up for a two-point conversion run and Carter was stopped inches short of the goal line. Now trailing by one point, Plott called for the bouncing on-side kickoff. Ramirez kicked an ideal ball that took a pair of huge hops. It was touched by a Paulding County player and recovered by Woodland at the 25-yard line. Five plays later, Titus Jones — who was inserted late at the quarterback position — scored on a nine-yard sweep on a diving stretch for the pylon. Another two-point conversion run attempt failed, but the Wildcats held a 26-21 lead with 0:54 remaining. Paulding County surged back up the field and reached Woodland territory, but a sack as time expired gave the Wildcats their first 4-0 start in school history. Justice Carter totaled 205 yards rushing in the game and Demarcus Williams rushed for 104 yards on 18 carries for the Wildcats. Paulding — who also led in the fourth quarter the week before against Hiram — falls to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in Region 7-AAAAA. Woodland (4-0, 2-0) has matched its best-ever start to a season and travels to Hiram next Friday for another region showdown. — Games stats provided by Nicholas Sullivan, The Daily Tribune News HARALSON COUNTY PULLS AWAY FROM TIGERS Treylon Sheppard ran for over 200 yards in the first half and finished his night with five touchdowns and well over 300 yards rushing as Haralson County remained unbeaten and stopped visiting Adairsville 51-28. Phillip Holloman returned the opening kickoff 95 yards and Sheppard added a 57-yard scamper as the Rebels grabbed an early 14-0 lead. Adairsville’s Mason Boswell scored a pair of rushing touchdowns on back-to-back Tigers’ possessions to knot the score at 14 midway through the second quarter, but Haralson County answered with a 37-14 scoring run from that point. Sheppard added two more scoring runs — one from more than 70 yards out — as the Rebels took a 36-22 lead into the intermission. Boswell scored for the Tigers in the final minute of the first half on a one-yard run. Derrick Simmons had a two-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter to narrow the Adairsville deficit to 36-28 and the Tigers recovered the ensuing onside kick, but their drive stalled just across midfield. Sheppard’s 80-yard scamper in the fourth quarter extended the Rebels’ lead to 44-28 and a 16-yard quarterback run accounted for Haralson’s final points. Haralson County improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in Region 6-AAA. Adairsville (2-2, 1-1) will host North Murray next Friday. COLONELS FAIL TO FIND OFFENSE ON THE ROAD After a season opening win over Adairsville, Cass has now dropped three straight with a loss Friday night at Villa Rica, 16-3. T.J. Brown scored the game’s first touchdown on a 3-yard run on Villa Rica’s second possession of the game for a 7-0 Wildcats’ lead. Cass kicked a second quarter field goal by Kaleb Speights to narrow the Villa Rica lead to 7-3, but the Wildcats raced back down the field in five plays to take a 13-3 lead. Noah Best connected with Phillip Zachary on a second-and-10 play for a 15-yard scoring strike. The extra point was missed. Following a three-and-out, Villa Rica blocked a Cass punt to set up a field goal for the final points either team would score on the night. The two teams battled scoreless through the second half and the Wildcats held on for a 13-point Region 7-AAAAA win. Villa Rica (3-2, 1-1) plays at Paulding County next Friday while Cass (1-3, 0-2) travels to top-ranked Rome.

Cass softball lost 6-1 to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and 10-8 to Lamar County Friday night in fast pitch action at the Chattanooga Score International Invitational. Five runs by LFO in the middle innings broke open a 1-1 game as the Warriors out hit Cass ten to five. The Colonels also committed four errors leading to three unearned runs. In Friday’s nightcap, Lamar County ran out to a 10-1 lead through three innings and held off the Lady Colonels for a two-run win. Cass posted seven runs in the fourth inning, but it wasn’t enough. Kylee Hembree was 2-for-3 in the game against LFO. Rachael Lee finished the two games 3-for-5 with a run scored and one RBI. Eryn Lee went 2-for-6 including a double, run, and RBI. The Cartersville and Cass volleyball teams both picked up a pair of wins Thursday night. The Lady Canes won a tough, three-set match at Northwest Whitfield and then closed out the night with a win over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe. Cass took straight set wins over visiting Pickens and Woodland. LADY CANES TAKE ROAD WINS Cartersville volleyball won a pair of non-region matches Thursday in Tunnel Hill defeating Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe in straight sets and Northwest Whitfield in three sets. Cartersville edged the host Lady Bruins in the opening set 26-24, but dropped the second set to Northwest 25-13. The Lady Canes bounced back to take the deciding third set, 15-11. Nedu Evans had 18 kills, nine digs, and three aces against Northwest. Grace Hunter contributed 32 assists, six digs, three kills, and three aces. A Lady Canes’ sweep would lock up the top seed in the region playoffs. CASS SWEEPS TO SENIOR NIGHT WINS Cass volleyball picked up a pair of wins Thursday night as they celebrated the careers of their five seniors -- Blaire Waters, Alexis Ware, Harmony Carr, Mireya Hernandez, and Jocelyn Pineda. Cass defeated Pickens 25-19 and 25-11 in the opener and beat Woodland 25-10 and 25-23 in the nightcap. In the other match at Cass Thursday night, Woodland defeated Pickens in three sets. Cass plays area matches Tuesday at Rome High School. Woodland plays area matches at Kell Tuesday against the Longhorns and East Paulding.

Adairsville and Cartersville picked up region softball victories on the road Thursday evening, while Cass dropped a region contest at Kell. LADY TIGERS WIN AT LFO Adairsville softball scored two runs in the top of the seventh at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Thursday to edge the Warriors in come-from-behind fashion, 3-2. The Region 6-AAA win for the Lady Tigers was their second straight. Adairsville took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but fell behind after LFO scored single runs in the third and fifth innings. Chloe Souders doubled home Alexa Varner in the seventh to tie the game 2-2 and after a Tori Lee sacrifice, Sierra Tanner singled home what would be the game-winning run. Taylor Rhoades (7 IP, 2ER, 8H, 1BB, 2K) picked up the complete-game pitching victory for Adairsville. Tanner paced the Lady Tigers’ offense with two hits and one RBI. Souders contributed her RBI double. Natalie Burrow had a hit and one RBI. Alexa Varner added a hit. Maddy Adkins had two hits including a double for LFO. CARTERSVILLE BLANKS SANDY CREEK Cartersville softball went on the road and blanked Sandy Creek Thursday 13-0 in Region 5-AAAA action. The Lady Canes, who out hit the Patriots twelve to four, scored in every frame for the run-rule, five-inning victory. Colbi Ballard was the complete-game pitching winner for Cartersville. She scattered four hits and two walks while striking out eight. Hope Short and Ballard both went 3-for-4 at the plate. Ballard drove in four runs. Short had three RBI. Cio Seigler had a hit and a sac fly for two RBI. Emery Jenkins had a hit and two RBI. AnnaKate McElhaney finished with a hit and a sac fly to drive in a run. Presley Edwards doubled. Cartersville (8-9, 4-5) plays a doubleheader at LaGrange Saturday at 12:30 p.m. CASS FALLS AT KELL The Lady Colonels out hit the host Lady Longhorns Thursday night, but Kell scored three times in the fourth inning to break open a 1-1 game on their way to a 4-1 Region 7-AAAAA win over visiting Cass. The Longhorns had three hits, including a pair of doubles in the game-changing inning, to go with an error and two sacrifice bunts as they posted three runs. Rachael Lee (6 IP, 4R, 2ER, 6H, 1BB, 3K) suffered the pitching loss for the Lady Colonels, despite her complete-game effort and only two earned runs. Valarie Artigues and Gracie Glass combined for four of the Longhorns’ six hits. Savannah Markt was the complete-game winning pitcher. Kylee Hembree had two hits including a double and one RBI for Cass. Lee and Kelly Young also had a pair of hits. Haley Owens and Maggie Collum contributed the other base hits for the Colonels. Adairsville softball came up with two big runs in the top of the seventh Wednesday night at Coahulla Creek, then held on for a 5-4 Region 6-AAA upset win over the Colts in Dalton. The two teams swapped runs throughout the contest, but Adairsville came up big in the seventh inning to knock off Region 6-AAA's current second place team. The Lady Tigers led 1-0 in the first inning and 3-1 after four innings, but entered the final frame in a 3-3 tie. Adairsville took a 5-3 lead in the top of the seventh before the Colts scored a run and had the game-tying run on base when Tigers’ pitcher Taylor Rhoades ended the threat with a strikeout. Rhoades (1.2 IP, 1R, 0ER, 1H, 1BB, 1K) picked up the pitching victory in relief of starter Victoria O’Neal (5.1 IP, 3R, 1ER, 6H, 0BB, 3K). Sierra Tanner paced the Tigers’ offense with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Sadye Johnson also had two hits and one RBI. Cartersville volleyball followed up their Bartow County Volleyball Championship over the weekend with a pair of Region 5-AAAA victories Tuesday night at The Storm Center. The Lady Canes cruised past Chapel Hill 25-16, 25-8 and took a much more difficult victory over Troup County 25-17, 25-23. The two wins keep Cartersville in control of the region standings as they battle for the region’s top seed in post-season play. In the win over Chapel Hill, Nedu Evans finished with 11 kills, three aces and five digs. Grace Hunter had 22 assists and four aces, while Anna Mathis tossed in seven digs and a pair of aces. Evans totaled 16 kills, two aces, and five digs against Troup. Grace Hunter contributed 25 assists with five aces. Anna Mathis had eight digs and Anna Grace Brock tallied five kills, six digs, and two aces. “This was a pair of big wins against some good competition,” said Cartersville coach Dutch Cothran after the matches. “London Shaw gave us some big blocks and Rebekah Stevens had a solid night for us on defense and in serve receive. Anna Mathis probably had her best night of the season in serve receive. She’s playing with some confidence.” Cartersville (13-11, 4-0) travels to Northwest Whitfield Thursday to play the Lady Bruins and Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe. CASS VOLLEYBALL EARNS ROAD SPLIT Coming off a runner-up finish at the Bartow County Volleyball Championship Tournament, Cass split a pair of matches Tuesday night at LaFayette High School. The Lady Colonels (6-10) defeated Gilmer 25-16 and 25-15, but fell to the host Ramblers 25-12 and 25-17. Cass hosts Pickens and Woodland Thursday starting at 5 p.m. LADY TIGERS DEFEAT HARALSON COUNTY Adairsville volleyball won for the first time this season, defeating Haralson County Tuesday 25-17 and 25-12. Dacey Hunt and Emily Green each had four aces in the match, while Green and Nakiyah Washington combined for nine kills. Adairsville hosts Calhoun and Gordon Central Thursday. WOODLAND LOSES TWO Woodland lost a pair of region matches Tuesday falling to Hiram and Carrollton. The Lady Cats won the first set with Hiram 25-23, but dropped the next two 25-18 and 25-21. The loss to Carrollwon was 25-22 and 25-21. Macey Vaughn had 20 assists and 15 digs between the two matches; Sydney Molinaro had seven kills, seven digs and nine blocks; Noelle Dickey had seven kills and 10 digs; and Caroline Gore had eight kills, 12 digs and two aces. Woodland is now 11-14 overall and 1-3 in Region 7-AAAAA. The Lady Wildcats play at Cass on Thursday.

The Cartersville boys cross country team placed fourth and the Lady Canes were sixth Tuesday at the West Hall Spartan Invitational in Gainesville. Bill Archer finished seventh in 17:43 to lead the Hurricanes. He was followed by Alex Rios (16th, 18:28), Max Florence (17th, 18:37), Levi Booth (32nd, 19:05), Banks Wilson (34th, 19:10), Jacob Busek (37th, 19:16), and Colin McCann (41st, 19:20). The North Hall boys won the 14-team event that included 121 runners. Johnson-Gainesville was second with Chestatee finishing third. Alex Machado finished tenth overall in 22:55 to lead the Cartersville girls. She was followed by teammates Vanna Beach (23rd, 24:02), Alice Terry (27th, 24:16), Trista Kelly (29th, 24:25), Jocelyn Blanchette (31st, 24:47), Jaxiry Betancourt (38th, 25:37), and Metzli Munoz (43rd, 26:05). The North Hall girls won the 11-team meet that included 79 runners. Chestatee placed second and Loganville third.

Woodland softball captured its most dramatic win of the season Tuesday night at home with an eighth inning, walk-off triple by Morgan Bailey forcing in the winning run for a 2-1 victory over Region 7-AAAAA leading Carrollton. Woodland pitcher Madi Bentley and Carrollton pitcher Olivia Fannin battled through a 1-1 tie through regulation and Bentley retired the visiting Trojans in order in the top of the eighth. In the Lady Cats’ half of the extra frame, Bella Carnes walked on four pitches and Bailey (photo) hit a 1-1 pitch into left field for a triple that enabled Carnes to score the game-winner. Bentley (8 IP, 1ER, 9H, 3BB, 1K) earned the complete-game win in the circle. Caroline Higdon finished with two hits and drove in Woodland’s first inning run. Carnes had one hit. Skylar Chappell also added a double. Scout Jennings paced Carrollton with three hits including a double and a third inning RBI. The loss for Carrollton was only their second of the year and snapped a 12-game winning streak. The Trojans slipped to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in Region 7-AAAAA. Woodland (14-5, 8-2) pulled within one-half game of the region lead and has six days off before hosting Kell next Monday. CASS 9, ROME 1 The Lady Colonels snapped a five game skid and beat region foe Rome for the second time this season Tuesday night in Rome, 9-1. Cass pitcher Rachael Lee picked up the six inning, complete-game victory by scattering five hits. The Rome run was unearned and Lee struck out three without walking a batter. She needed only 54 pitches and 45 were for strikes in an impressive outing. Rachael Lee (photo) was also 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, a sac fly, and three RBI. Jaden Musacchio was 3-for-4 for Cass. Haley Owens contributed a pair of hits. CALHOUN 8, ADAIRSVILLE 6 The Lady Tigers held a 4-2 lead after one inning, but Calhoun posted seven runs in their first four frames on their way to an 8-6 win Tuesday night at Adairsville. Maggie McBrayer took the pitching win for Calhoun in relief of starter Lona Sims. Lyndi Rae Davis had two hits including a double and four RBI to pace the Yellow Jackets. Espee Reyes had two hits including a triple and two RBI. Carlie Henderson had two hits and Molly Walker homered for Calhoun. Alexa Varner led Adairsville with two hits.
