Canes' rifles defeat LaFayette

The Cartersville High School rifle team defeated LaFayette Thursday afternoon at the Carl Boyd American Legion Post in Cartersville.

The Canes’ rifles outscored the Ramblers 1101 to 1070. The result was the Cartersville team’s second-highest team score in program history. The win also avenged an earlier season loss to LaFayette and was Cartersville’s first-ever win over the Ramblers.

Other top shooters for the Hurricanes were Caleb Adams (277), Angelina Christ (275), Luis Rangel (267), and Harper Cole Eubanks (265).

The two teams will face off again Saturday when Cartersville High School hosts the Area 10 tournament starting at 10 a.m. Cartersville opens the tournament against top-seeded and undefeated Cherokee High School.
