Local players named to 16u WWBA national all-tourney team


Sam Seaman (Adairsville HS), Carrington Evans (Cartersville HS), Anthony Seigler (Cartersville HS), and Noah Daniel (Cartersville HS) were named Saturday to the 2015 Perfect Game WWBA 16u National Championship All Tournament Team.


The tournament was centered July 10-17 at Perfect Game Park South at LakePoint in Emerson.


Seaman, playing for the Double Day Rockies, was 10 for 18 (.556) in the tournament with a double, two triples, seven RBI, seven runs scored, and three stolen bases. His on base percentage was .636 and his slugging percentage for the tournament was .833.


Evans, playing for TECB Astros 16u, hit .500 in twenty-two plate appearances with three doubles and five RBI. He scored four runs with an OB% of .545 and a SLG% of .667.


Seigler, who was recently named MVP of the 15u National Championship, also played for the East Cobb Astros in the 16u event. He was 9-for-20 (.450) in the 16u tournament with six RBI. His OB% was .520 and his SLG% was .450.


Seigler pitched in 3 games during the 16u event and picked up a pitching victory. He pitched 10 innings, allowed 8 hits, only 1 earned run (0.70 ERA) with 5 strikeouts.


Daniel was 5-for-13 (.385) with a double, two RBI, and six runs scored for Titans Baseball Orange. He swiped three bases and compiled a .462 SLG%.
