Tigers move over .500 mark with region win at Bremen


The Adairsville Tigers’ basketball team led throughout Friday night in a road 62-45 win at Bremen.


Peter Marcuz scored 13 for Bremen. Jason Houston and Charlie Crafton added seven and five, respectively, for the Devils.


Bremen falls to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in Region 6-AAA with the loss.


The Tigers were led in scoring by Cody Henderson with 13 points. Hunter Hice followed with 12 and Grayson Dailey 11. Ronald Hardin finished with nine points. Juan Perez and James Sims totaled six points each. Ethan Belcher contributed four points. Trevis Williams and Denzel Pitt added one point each.

Adairsville (5-4, 3-2 Region 6-AAA) plays at Gordon Central Monday at 4:30pm, at Gordon Central on Tuesday at 4:30pm, and at Southeast Whitfield Wednesday night at 8:30pm.



ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 67, BREMEN 56



The Lady Tigers outscored Bremen 23-6 in the second quarter to gain control with a 36-19 lead at the intermission.


Bremen battled back in the third quarter to narrow the Lady Tigers’ lead to three, but Adairsville held on for an 11-point decision.


Nakiyah Washington scored a game-high 22 points to lead Adairsville. Josie Summerville scored 17 points and Emily Collum 14 for the Lady Tigers.


Adairsville (4-5, 2-3) plays at Southeast Whitfield Tuesday.





DACULA BOYS 74, CASS 63


Cass led 18-15 after one quarter, but failed to keep pace with the Falcons over the final three periods Friday night in both teams’ opener at the West Hall Spartan Shootout.


C.J. Bennett scored 19, Jake Collum 17, and Ashton Burley 12 for the Colonels in their 74-63 loss.


Dacula improved to 6-2 with the win.


Cass (6-3) plays the host team, West Hall, on Saturday.
