Elite Athletes of the Month for November 2017


Elite Stone Supply, in conjunction with WBHF and Bartow Sports Zone, presents the ELITE ATHLETES OF THE MONTH.



Each month, local high schools are provided opportunity to name an Elite Athlete of the Month and present the information on their honoree through Bartow Sports Zone and on 100.3FM and AM1450, WBHF in Cartersville.

Recipients for November 2017:


Ashton Burley -- Cass High School

Rylee Moss -- Adairsville High School

Charles Norman -- Woodland High School

Addie Smith -- Cartersville High School


 
Ashton Burley, Cass HS

The November Cass High School Elite Athlete of the Month is Ashton Burley.


Burley is a four-year starter and a third-year captain for the Colonels’ basketball team.


The son of Brian and Stephanie Burley, his coach David Brock refers to him as a great leader both on and off the court for the Colonels.


He is averaging 12 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in the early portion of the 2017-18 season.


Burley is an exemplary student with a 3.1 GPA. He plans to continue his education and his basketball career at the collegiate level.


Rylee Moss, Adairsville HS

Rylee Moss is the November Elite Athlete of the Month representing Adairsville High School.


A standout on the Tigers’ swim team, the junior is daughter of Chris and Maurni Moss.


“Rylee excels at all four strokes,” said her Adairsville coach Shawn Williams. “She brings passion and commitment to the pool. She is an example and a source of encouragement for her teammates. She always has a smile on her face and is ready to go,” the coach continued.


Moss has maintained a 3.8 GPA while enrolled in AP and Honors classes at AHS and is currently a dual enrollment student with Chattahoochee Technical College.

Rylee Moss, Adairsville HS


Moss plans to continue her swimming career in college and has been making collegiate visits this Fall.


“Rylee is a natural talent, but she excels because of her work ethic and unrelenting pursuit of perfection,” Williams concluded.



Charles Norman, Woodland HS

The Woodland High School Elite Athlete of the Month for November is Charles Norman.


A sophomore point guard on the Wildcats’ basketball team, Norman has been a leader on the floor in the early 2017-18 season.


Also a contributor with the Woodland track and field team, he is the son of Charles and Niesha Norman.


Norman has scored 46 points through the Wildcats’ first five games, averaging 9.2 points per game.



Addie Smith is the November Elite Athlete of the Month representing Cartersville High School.


The senior volleyball and basketball player for the Lady Canes is the daughter of Howard and Julie Smith.


A three-year varsity basketball player, Smith is a team captain and contributing as a guard and small forward.


“Addie is a great leader,” noted Cartersville coach Cindy Moore. “She is a true student-athlete.”


Smith is currently third in scoring for the Lady Canes in the early portion of their schedule.
