Canes, Lady Cats place second at Hurricane Invitational
Cartersville High School track and field hosted the Hurricane Invitational Saturday at Weinman Stadium with representatives from 14 participating schools.
McKenna Trapheagen of Woodland won the girls 3200 meter run in 10:56.76 in one of the top performances of the day. Carrollton’s Payton Phillips cleared 12 feet, 7.5 inches in the girls’ pole vault and Darlington’s Tate Ratledge won the shot put at 55 feet, 6.75 inches.
Carrollton won the girls invitational with 135 points. Woodland was second with 110 and North Springs placed third with 92 points. The Cartersville girls placed eighth.
Allatoona won the boys title with 111 points. Cartersville and Hiram tied for second with 96 points and Woodland was fourth with 86.
