Cartersville tennis dominant in wins over Central; Woodland falls to Carrollton


The Cartersville High School girls and boys tennis teams cruised to Region 5-AAAA victories Thursday in matches with Central-Carroll. The Lady Canes took four of five lines and the Hurricanes won all five lines against the Lions. CARTERSVILLE GIRLS 4, CENTRAL-CARROLL 1

Line 1 — Ashley Popham won 6-1, 6-0

Line 2 — Emily Bush won 6-1, 6-0

Line 3 — Chloe Satterfield lost 3-6, 1-6

Line 1 — Lydia Wiedetz / Alice Terry won 6-2, 6-2

Line 2 — Mason Cline / Mia Shaw won 7-6, 7-3

Line 1 — Luke Kottemann won 6-1, 6-1

Line 2 — John Blackhall won 6-1, 6-0

Line 3 — Luke Gambill won 6-0, 7-6

Line 2 — Griffin Shaw / Jackson Cline won 6-1, 6-1

WOODLAND TENNIS TEAMS FALL TO CARROLLTON

The Woodland High boys tennis team took the first two singles lines, and the girls team won at Line 2 doubles, but both teams lost Region 7-AAAAA matches to Carrollton Thursday.
