Hilburn/Mathis win sr. division; Willard/Gayton take jr. division at Laurel Park AHSBA competition


The Amateur High School Bass Anglers had a turnout of 45 boats Saturday at Laurel Park on Lake Lanier near Gainesville. The young anglers returned a total of 87 bass for 184 pounds overall.

The Junior League competition was won by Brandon Willard of Red Top Middle School and Bryan Gayton of Woodland Middle School. The two combined for 11.77 pounds with a 3.98 pound big fish. The Senior League winners were Blake Hilburn and Levi Mathis of Adairsville High School with a total of 14.8 pounds. The Senior League big fish was won by Tyler and A.J. Martin of Cass High School with a 4.37 pound bass.


The next event for AHSBA will be March 20 at Weiss Lake's Leesburg Landing in Leesburg, Alabama. Saturday's complete results by division:
