Woodland volleyball suffers road losses

The Woodland High volleyball team started the 2024 season on Tuesday night in Jasper and suffered a trio of non-region losses in straight sets.
The Lady Cats fell to the host Pickens Dragons 16-25 and 13-25, lost to the Gilmer Bobcats 7-25 and 13-25, and fell to the Fannin County Rebels 7-25 and 13-25.
Woodland coach Caroline Gore credited Dayana Jaimes as the Lady Cats’ defensive leader in the three matches with Abygail Childs and Emily Guin leading the offense.
Woodland (0-3) will host Temple and East Paulding on Thursday in a 5 p.m. start.
