ADAIRSVILLE 4, RIDGELAND 2 (8 innings)

The Adairsville Tigers rallied for two runs in the seventh to send Thursday’s game at Ridgeland into extra innings, then scored twice in the top of the eighth to win in a Region 7-AAA thriller.

The host Panthers grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first and added a run in the sixth to carry a 2-0 advantage into the final frame, but Adairsville tied the game on a two-run line drive single by Hayden Miller that pushed across Colton Sanford and Hudson Parr.

In the extra frame, Matthew Cook delivered a two-run single into left field, scoring Tyler Parker and Hunter Dudley.

Cook (two RBI) led the Adairsville charge with two hits. Miller (two RBI) and Harrison Cole had the only other hits for the Tigers.
