The Adairsville Tigers rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday evening to outlast the visiting Sonoraville Phoenix, 3-2.
After four scoreless innings to start the game, Sonoraville used three hits and an Adairsville error to go up 2-0. The Tigers answered in the sixth to go ahead, taking advantage of a leadoff double by Hudson Parr, three walks in the frame, and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Matthew Cook.
Tyler Parker (1.2 IP, 0R, 0H, 1BB) picked up the Tigers’ pitching win in relief of starter McCayden Hufstetler (5 IP, 2ER, 5H, 2BB, 5K). Parr (0.1 IP, 0R, 0H, 1K) entered in the seventh inning to strikeout the final Phoenix batter.
Westin Barfield, Kaden Coker, and Parr had the only Adairsville base hits.
The loss dropped Sonoraville to 4-5 on the season.
