- Record round, runner-up finish for Brumlow at Team TaylorMade Invitational
May 25, 2026 Charles Wilson / BartowSportsZone.com Bodie Brumlow set a new course and tournament scoring record in a runner-up finish at the Team TaylorMade Invitational. Photo: AJGA.org Cartersville High School rising senior Bodie Brumlow finished runner-up in an elite field this past weekend at the American Junior Golf Association Team TaylorMade Invitational in Belleair, Florida. Fresh off leading his high school team to GHSA Class 4A back-to-back state titles, Brumlow carded rounds of 61-67-72 (10-under par) to finish three shots back of tournament winner Luke Ringkamp (Palm Desert, California) on Friday through Sunday at the 6,879-yard, par-70 Pelican Golf Club. Brumlow’s opening round 61 set a new course record at the Pelican Golf Club, breaking the previous record of 7-under-par 63. The round also established a new AJGA 18-hole invitational scoring record. Bodie Brumlow / Photo: AJGA.org On Saturday, Brumlow followed his record-setting round with a three-under-par 67, but his struggles on Sunday included consecutive bad holes — a double-bogey and a triple-bogey — that caused him to lose his lead. He responded with two late birdies, but Ringkamp's impressive 64 was too much to catch on the final day. Ringcamp, a 2026 grad and Pepperdine commit, began the tournament as the No. 4-ranked player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. His 13-under par total included rounds of 65, 68, and a final round of 64. Giuseppe Puchl (Royal Palm Beach, Florida) finished in third place, two shots behind Brumlow. Landon Ashcraft (Scottsdale, Arizona) and Miles Russell (Jacksonville, Florida) were another shot back and tied for fourth. Brumlow began the event as the No. 94 player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. It was his third AJGA tournament (two in 2025), and he now has top-5 finishes in all of them.

Cartersville golf coach Chad Murray reflected on his team's efforts. "Every team has its own personality," said Murray. "This year's team has a group of fighters. When things were going our way and when things were not, they fought. The final round was a microcosm of that. Some of the guys had things go their way, and some did not. But they never stopped fighting, even when the lead was cut to five (shots) early in the round." Their strategy for the tournament was 'no friends," Murray continued. "That's not to say we aren't friendly, but rather, it's sending a message that we were there for one reason -- to beat you. I'm so proud of each and every one of these guys. I am going to miss my seniors, and I am already looking forward to getting after it again next year with my returners. LADY CANES PLACE EIGHTH The Cartersville Girls’ golf team finished eighth on Tuesday at the 2026 GHSA Class 4A State Championship held at Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah. Ashlyn Taylor of Marist carded a two-day total of 4-over par to edge Delaney McFadden of Blessed Trinity by one shot to win the individual championship. “The girls did great at state and are a very young team,” noted Murray. “I fully expect next year we will be climbing even further up the list to the top as we build for next season.”
